A blackout usually reflects broadcast rights and your location—not a problem with your stream. If live viewing is unavailable, the League Pass replay becomes available at different times depending on the type of blackout and country.
Why is the WNBA game blacked out?
The WNBA says local and national broadcasters hold exclusive live rights to certain games. As its Help Center explains, “Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to televise live games.” (WNBA Help Center, “Blackouts,” updated August 12, 2026.)
In the United States, League Pass live blackouts cover nationally televised games on the listed networks and services, as well as locally televised games involving the viewer’s local WNBA team. The WNBA determines location using an IP address or enabled device location services; it uses ZIP code to determine a US viewer’s local-market team. The current list can change, so check the WNBA’s latest blackout information rather than relying on an older list.
As of August 12, 2026, the WNBA lists ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video for nationally televised US games. In Canada, its list includes TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2. The All-Star Friday Night event, All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship are unavailable live on League Pass in both countries.

Where can you watch the game live instead?
- Find the exact game. Open the WNBA schedule and identify the matchup and date. Check the listing for the broadcaster or distributor; availability can differ by game and market.
- Check whether the restriction is national or local. Compare the schedule’s listed broadcaster with the blackout information and your current market. US viewers can use the WNBA’s ZIP-code lookup to check local League Pass exclusions.
- Use the listed broadcaster or distributor. Depending on the game and location, that may be a national network or service, a regional sports network, or a local broadcast station. Canadian viewers should check the schedule for the applicable national provider. No single service carries every game.
Buying or renewing League Pass does not remove a blackout. The WNBA says the subscription includes live and on-demand games, full-length game replays, archives, and access on supported devices, but local blackouts and national exclusions still apply. Its listed platforms include web, mobile, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV; purchase availability varies by country. See the League Pass help page for current details.
When will the League Pass replay be available?

These timings are from the WNBA’s blackout guidance. If a replay does not appear when expected, check the game listing and contact WNBA support.

What if the service has your location wrong?
League Pass uses your IP address or enabled device location services to determine location. First check that the device and network reflect where you actually are, then contact WNBA support if the blackout still appears incorrect. The WNBA’s published guidance identifies these location signals but does not provide a guaranteed fix for a false-location result.
Do not try to bypass the blackout with a VPN or other circumvention method. The WNBA subscriber agreement prohibits attempts to circumvent blackout restrictions and says they may result in immediate termination, a $100 early termination charge, and possible legal action. Review the subscriber agreement for its terms.

Can an antenna help?
Only if that specific game is being carried by a local over-the-air station you can receive. The WNBA says ION is available throughout most of the US through antennas, pay-TV providers, and streaming services. Check the game’s schedule and local station availability before buying an indoor HDTV antenna; an antenna is not a general way to defeat a streaming blackout. The WNBA FAQ has more information about ION availability.
