Lower brightness or shorten screen timeout if the display is a priority to adjust. These are practical options, not guaranteed savings: OnePlus has not published setting-by-setting runtime figures for the phone.
What to change first on the OnePlus 15
Start with measured app use rather than switching off features at random. The OnePlus 15 runs OxygenOS 16.0, but labels and menu paths can differ by software build or region. If a path below is not visible, open Settings search and try “battery” or “app battery usage.”
Check what is using power
- Open Settings > Battery and review the battery-use details since the last full charge, if shown.
- Look for apps with notable background use. An app at the top may simply be one you used heavily, so consider its use and timing before changing its behavior.
- For a specific app, search Settings for “app battery usage” or “battery optimization” and review the controls available on your build.
OnePlus’s older OnePlus 8 Pro manual describes battery-use details and app battery optimization, but it is not a current OnePlus 15 walkthrough. Treat those names as search terms, not guaranteed menu labels. OnePlus 8 Pro User Manual
Restrict background use selectively
For an app that is consuming power in the background and does not need to sync continuously, apply the most appropriate background restriction available in its app-battery controls. Avoid restricting every app: doing so can delay notifications, messages, or other updates you expect promptly. Check important alerts after changing a restriction.

Use Battery Saver when runtime matters more than background activity
Turn on Battery Saver when you need to stretch the current charge and can tolerate some features or app activity being limited. OnePlus’s older manual says Battery Saver turns off some features and restricts apps; the exact behavior and toggle wording on OxygenOS 16 may differ. Adjust screen and connections only when useful
Reduce display use if the trade-off suits you
Lowering brightness, shortening screen timeout, or reducing always-on display use are reasonable experiments if you are comfortable with the visibility or convenience trade-off. No OnePlus 15 test in the available official materials quantifies how much any of these changes saves, so judge them by your own use rather than expecting a fixed percentage or number of extra hours.

Turn off an unused radio, not connectivity you need
Switching off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile data may make sense when you are not using that connection, but disabling a radio does not always reduce power in a predictable way. Signal conditions and usage matter; OnePlus itself says its playback results vary with network and settings. Keep the connection on when you need it, particularly where poor mobile reception or a required accessory changes the trade-off. OnePlus 15 product page
Do not confuse runtime settings with charging-care settings
Some OnePlus 15 coverage reports Smart Charging and a Custom Charging Limit in Battery Health, with limits adjustable in 5% steps. A charge limit changes how much energy is stored before charging stops; it does not add energy to a full charge or extend runtime for that charge. It may suit a long-term charging preference, but if you need maximum time away from an outlet that day, the reduced charge capacity is a trade-off.
Battery care: follow OnePlus’s temperature guidance
OnePlus recommends charging between 5°C and 35°C. Its OnePlus 15 Safety Guide also says flash charging may not work below 15°C or above 35°C, advises against charging for more than 12 hours, and warns that very high or low temperatures can reduce battery lifespan. These are charging and battery-care recommendations, not a statement that the phone can only be used within that temperature range. For longer storage, OnePlus Support advises keeping the phone above 60% charge in a cool, dry place and recharging it every four or five months. The same support article recommends unplugging after a full charge, using the original charger, and charging when the low-battery reminder appears. The company says that playback figure comes from controlled conditions and actual results vary with usage, network, and settings.
