Yes. Students can submit a video to a Google Classroom assignment by uploading a file, attaching a video from Google Drive, adding a link, or recording in Classroom when that feature is available. After adding the video, select Turn in to submit the assignment.
Choose how to submit the video
Use the option that matches where the video is and which device you are using. Computer instructions are documented for Drive, links, file uploads, and Classroom recording. Android instructions also include the camera and a mobile recording option.

Submit a video on a computer
- Open Google Classroom, enter the class, and open the assignment.
- Under Your work, select Add or create.
- Choose Google Drive, Link, or File to attach an existing video. If your account has the feature, choose Record video or record a screencast instead.
- Allow Classroom access to the camera, microphone, or screen if prompted for a recording.
- Once the video is attached or recorded, select Turn in and confirm if prompted. [Google Classroom Help] [Google Classroom Help]
Computer recording limit
Google says recordings made in the Classroom workflow can be up to five minutes. This is a limit for recordings made there, not a stated limit for a video file uploaded from a device or Drive. [Google Classroom Help]
Submit a video on Android
- Open the class and assignment in the Classroom app.
- Tap Add, then choose Drive, Link, File, Camera, or Record video.
- Select or make the video, attach it to the assignment, and submit the assignment. [Google Classroom Help]
Google’s reviewed Android student instructions do not state a recording duration or account eligibility requirement for the mobile recording option, so the computer recording details should not be assumed to apply.

Video formats and upload limits
Google lists WEBM, MPEG4, 3GPP, MOV, AVI, MPEG-PS, WMV, FLV, and OGG as examples of video formats students can attach. Its teacher guidance says students can attach any file type, with these formats given as video examples. [Google Classroom Help]
The reviewed Google guidance does not state a maximum file size or duration for an uploaded video. The five-minute limit applies to recordings created in Classroom on a computer; it does not establish an upload cap.

Meet the due date
Google’s computer instructions say an assignment can only be submitted before its due date; work turned in after that date is marked late. Before the deadline, a student can unsubmit the assignment, make changes, and turn it in again. [Google Classroom Help]
