Yes. PlanGrid’s construction issue and field-documentation workflows can be used to manage punch-list work. But Autodesk says PlanGrid is no longer available for purchase by new customers; its current successor, Forma Build, explicitly supports tracking punch-list items and issues. Existing PlanGrid users should confirm their account access and terms with Autodesk.
PlanGrid availability: existing users versus new buyers
Autodesk describes PlanGrid as no longer available for purchase by net-new customers and points to Forma Build as its evolution. If your company already uses PlanGrid, confirm directly with Autodesk that your account remains available and ask which terms and entitlements apply. Autodesk’s product transition information does not establish which legacy entitlements transfer or what current pricing will be. Autodesk’s PlanGrid page directs readers to its pricing information.
For organizations evaluating a new Autodesk workflow, Forma Build is the current product to investigate. Autodesk’s 2026 Forma Build Essentials webinar explicitly includes tracking punch-list items and issues among its field workflows.
How punch-list tracking works
Punch lists commonly combine two kinds of work: recording deficiencies that need correction and using a repeatable checklist to inspect or sign off an area. Autodesk’s materials describe using Forms for structured checklists and Issues for individual items, with sheet locations helping teams identify where work is needed.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use Forms for repeatable checklists
Forms can provide a punch-list template or a checklist for a site walk-through. Autodesk’s mobile app information says users can fill out Forms checklists in the field, including for punch lists. See Autodesk’s mobile app page.
Use Issues for deficiencies that need follow-up
An issue can capture a specific problem, along with notes, photos, and a location on a sheet. In Autodesk’s Brinkman Construction customer story, the company described taking a photo, adding notes to pre-populated issue fields, and placing sheet pins to locate issues. These are Brinkman’s reported practices, not a guarantee that every project will use the same setup.

A field-to-closeout process Autodesk customers describe
Autodesk’s Clayco customer story describes a staged process: assign checklists and work areas to specialty contractors, have them sign off when work in an area is complete, then have a company representative verify the area and add issues before accepting it. The cycle continues as each trade completes its work. Clayco also reported standardizing forms and issue types.
In that 2025 customer story, Clayco said it had more than 250 standardized checklists and had identified around 500 duplicate checklists in its former process. Those figures describe Clayco’s own materials and experience; they are not product limits or typical project outcomes.

Brinkman reported using Forms for punch-list closeout templates and Issues to track areas for improvement, with sheet boundaries providing location context. The company also said it used the workflow for commissioning and startup checklists. Brinkman’s Tim Kelleher, Operational Standards & Innovation, said: “Forma Build really streamlined our ability to create and document punchlists.”
What to check before relying on the workflow
- Your account: If you are an existing PlanGrid customer, ask Autodesk to confirm access, support, and applicable terms for your account.
- Your process: Decide whether each punch item should be recorded as an Issue, captured through a Form, or handled using both. Templates, issue types, locations, and sign-off responsibilities need to fit the project’s closeout process.
- Field use: Autodesk documents mobile issue logging and Forms checklists, including punch-list use. Confirm the app access and onsite connectivity your team needs; the cited materials do not establish a particular device requirement.
- Transition and cost: Have Autodesk confirm current pricing and whether any PlanGrid entitlements carry over. Public product materials cited here do not settle account-specific transfer terms.
Can you use the mobile app for punch lists?
Autodesk says its construction mobile app can be used to log issues onsite and complete Forms checklists for punch lists and site walk-throughs. This supports field capture, but the exact setup and access available to a particular organization depend on its Autodesk account and product terms.
