Choose the Power saving options that fit your situation
Samsung’s Power saving mode reduces power use by disabling or limiting selected features. On the A35, open Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Power saving; if the labels differ, look for the Battery and Power saving controls in Settings.
Samsung lists these possible restrictions. Not every option is guaranteed to appear on every A35 software version, and Samsung does not quantify how much extra runtime any individual toggle provides.

Samsung’s instructions allow permitted apps to be added or removed, though the procedure may differ by device. A Galaxy S23 manual warns that some apps may not send notifications in Power saving mode; treat that as a possibility, not a confirmed A35 behavior. Check for time-sensitive notifications after enabling the mode.

Find apps using battery in the background
Open the A35’s battery usage information in Settings and look for an app consuming more charge than its use would suggest. Review whether it needs to run in the background; restricting an app can delay its activity or notifications.
Samsung’s Galaxy S23 manual documents Background usage limits for infrequently used apps. That is general Galaxy guidance, not confirmation of the A35’s exact menu wording or availability. If you see the control on your phone, use it selectively and verify that the app still works as you expect.

Consider a standard refresh rate if the setting is available
A higher refresh rate can make scrolling and motion look smoother, while Samsung says the Standard refresh-rate setting can conserve battery. A Galaxy S23 manual documents that option, but the cited guidance does not establish the exact A35 menu path or confirm that the setting appears on every A35. If your display settings offer Standard and a smoother alternative, choose Standard when battery conservation matters more than the smoother motion.
Protecting battery lifespan is different from extending today’s runtime
Samsung’s Galaxy S23 manual describes Protect battery as limiting the maximum charge to 85% to help extend battery lifespan. A lower charge ceiling means less energy available for a particular day, so it is not a way to increase runtime between charges. The cited manual is for the S23, not the A35; check your A35’s Battery settings before relying on this feature or following S23-specific directions.

What to expect from the A35’s battery
Samsung lists the Galaxy A35 battery as 5000 mAh typical capacity and 4905 mAh rated (minimum) capacity. Samsung’s “up to 2 days” estimate is based on an average usage profile assessed in the UK from January 11 to January 20, 2024, using pre-release SM-A356 phones with default settings over LTE and 5G Sub6 (not 5G mmWave). It is not a promise of two days for every owner. Samsung says actual battery life varies with network conditions, features and apps, calls and messages, charge count, and other factors.

The A35 supports Super Fast Charging, and Samsung says its 25W wall charger is sold separately. A compatible charger can help with recharging, but it does not extend the phone’s runtime between charges.
