Yes. Zenefits, now sold as the TriNet HR Platform (previously TriNet Zenefits), supports open enrollment. Administrators can set up or renew plans and invite employees to enroll. Employees can compare plans and make elections online, and administrators can watch progress on dashboards. Those are TriNet’s own descriptions of the product, not independent test results. Your plans, dates and carriers still decide how smoothly it runs for your company.
What the platform covers for open enrollment
TriNet describes the following capabilities:
- Plan and renewal setup: A Benefits Setup Checklist walks administrators through adding and renewing plans, configuring contributions, and inviting employees to enroll.
- Employee elections: Workflows exist for new hires, open enrollment and life-status changes. Employees get side-by-side plan comparisons.
- Progress monitoring: Dashboards and reports show enrollment progress and monthly benefit costs.
- Mobile access: TriNet’s HR Platform page says employees enroll in plans right in the mobile app.
What administrators and employees do
Administrator side
You add or renew each sponsored plan, set what the company and employee each pay, and then invite employees to enroll. While the window is open, you track who has finished and what the elections will cost each month.
Employee side
Employees review the plans offered to them, compare them side by side, and submit elections on the web or in the mobile app. The same system handles later life-status changes, such as a marriage or birth, outside the annual window.
Optional hands-on help: HR Plus
The core platform is software. If you want a person involved, TriNet sells HR Plus benefits-administration services. They cover platform navigation and help with setting up and managing renewals and open enrollment, and they involve coordination with your broker and plan details. TriNet’s service page describes this as “assistance setting up benefits renewal and open enrollment based on your sponsored plans—reducing complexity and keeping timelines on track.” Pricing is per employee per month and depends on employee count and service level. No public rate appears on the page TriNet cites.

Limits to check before your window opens
TriNet’s public pages describe general capabilities. They do not give your election dates, plan rules or the full setup sequence for your account. Confirm these with your administrator, broker or TriNet:
- The enrollment window and the effective dates of coverage.
- Which plans are available to which employee groups.
- Contribution settings.
- What support is included, and what falls under HR Plus.
Carrier data exchange
TriNet lists EDI (electronic enrollment data exchange) with leading insurance carriers for groups with 50 or more employees. Smaller groups should not assume it applies. Ask whether your carriers are covered and how elections reach them.

Employee Navigator
TriNet also describes an Employee Navigator integration and says benefits administration remains unchanged. Check whether it applies to your group and broker.
