What is different between the Galaxy A35 and A34?
Samsung’s UK product information lists both phones with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, refresh rates up to 120 Hz, and a 5,000 mAh typical battery. Those figures make the phones look closely matched on basic screen size, refresh rate, and battery capacity; they are specifications, not independent tests of brightness, smoothness, or battery life.

Which phone has the better display?
On the headline specifications available from Samsung, neither has a clear advantage: both have a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. Samsung lists 1,000 nits HBM for the A34 and describes 1,000 nits for the A35 in a regional listing. These manufacturer figures do not amount to a directly comparable brightness test, so they are not enough to call one screen brighter in use.

Which takes better photos?
Samsung’s A35 listing specifies a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 13 MP front camera. The cited A34 product passage confirms OIS but does not provide a complete matching camera specification table. Megapixel counts alone cannot show which phone produces better photos, and there is no controlled side-by-side camera evidence here to name a winner.
Do they have the same battery life?
Both are specified with a 5,000 mAh typical battery. Capacity is not a battery-endurance result: screen use, network conditions, software, and other factors affect how long a phone runs. Samsung’s published specifications do not establish equal real-world battery life or show that one lasts longer.

How long will each phone get software updates?
Samsung says the A35 is eligible for up to four generations of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates. Its A34 page states four generations of OS updates and five years of security maintenance. These are manufacturer support promises, not independent assessments.
The similar headline promises do not mean the A34 necessarily has as much support time remaining: the phones launched at different times. Samsung also says update timing and features may vary by device, region, or the timing of Android OS upgrades. Check Samsung’s current update schedule for your region and the specific model before deciding how much remaining support matters to you.

Are the Galaxy A35 and A34 waterproof?
No. Samsung gives both phones an IP67 rating and describes testing in up to 1 metre of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Samsung cautions against beach or pool use and notes that water resistance can decline with normal wear. Treat the rating as limited protection under the stated test conditions, not as a guarantee against water damage.

The best choice depends on the current price gap in your market, not an old launch price. Samsung announced a US launch price of $399.99 for the A35 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in March 2024; that historical price is not a current A35 price or a like-for-like comparison with today’s A34 listings.

Compare the same condition and storage configuration, and account for whether each phone is new or refurbished. Regional configurations, network-band support, and retailer availability can differ. If the A35 is close in price, it is the straightforward pick for a buyer who prefers the newer generation. If the A34 costs substantially less and meets your needs, it may offer better value. Samsung’s cited specifications alone do not settle the value question for your local market.
