For most Acer Aspire 16 AI owners, try Windows Studio Effects if you make video calls and Live Captions if captions or supported-language translation would help. Test Click to Do for tasks involving visible text or images. Treat Recall differently: leave snapshot saving off unless a searchable history of your screen activity is worth the privacy trade-off to you.
First check your exact Aspire model and the Windows features available on your current build. “Aspire 16 AI” covers multiple processor families, and feature availability can vary by SKU, Windows version, language, and rollout.
Check your Aspire 16 AI model before looking for features
Acer announced Snapdragon A16-11M, Intel A16-52M, and AMD A16-61M Aspire 16 AI families in May 2025. Those names do not establish that every configuration has the same hardware or Windows AI capabilities. Check your full model number in Settings > System > About or on the product label, then check Windows Update. Microsoft says Copilot+ AI components can be serviced separately through Windows Update, so feature availability may change independently of major Windows feature updates. As one example—not a specification for the whole family—the US page for Snapdragon model A16-11M-X3EW lists Windows 11 Home, 16 GB memory, 512 GB storage, and a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated at 45 TOPS. Check Acer’s specifications for that SKU rather than applying its details to another region or configuration.

Which features are worth trying?

Studio Effects: try them for calls, then check the preview
To find the controls, look for Studio effects in Quick Settings, or open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras and select the camera. Depending on device capability, Windows may offer background blur, eye contact, automatic framing, portrait light, or creative filters. Microsoft’s Windows Studio Effects overview explains the controls and available effects.
Start with an effect that solves a real problem, such as background blur in a busy room. Check the camera preview and the meeting apps you actually use. Microsoft says an effect enabled in Windows operates at the hardware level and is on by default for applications using that camera, including apps that do not have their own awareness of the Windows setting. Don’t assume a Windows camera effect is limited to one meeting app.

Live Captions: enable when captions or translation are useful
Live Captions can caption audio across Windows, which can help with accessibility, noisy surroundings, or following media without relying on its built-in subtitles. On Copilot+ PCs, Microsoft currently documents translation of live or prerecorded audio and video from more than 40 languages into English, and from more than 40 languages into Simplified Chinese. Check the current supported languages and requirements for your Windows build before relying on a particular translation.
Microsoft says audio, voice data, and captions do not leave the device for this feature. If you do not need captions or supported-language translation, there is no practical reason to enable Live Captions solely because the laptop is marketed as an AI PC.

Click to Do: keep it only if its actions save time
Click to Do analyzes recognized text or images on screen and offers actions, such as copying text or opening selected content in another app. Try it on a few tasks you already perform—for example, copying text from visible content or sending an image to an editing app—and judge whether the suggested steps are genuinely quicker.
Actions and integrations are not universal. Microsoft notes that some options depend on account, language, and licensing; asking Microsoft Copilot can require a Microsoft 365 license. Consult Microsoft’s Click to Do documentation for the conditions on specific actions. Do not assume every action processes content locally or works on every Aspire configuration.

Recall: decide whether a searchable screen history is worth opting into
Recall periodically takes snapshots of the active screen so you can search what was shown. Saving snapshots is off until a user opts in. Microsoft describes Recall as a preview feature for compatible Copilot+ PCs, so check the current requirements and availability before looking for it.
Microsoft says snapshots and associated Recall data are stored and processed locally, are not shared with Microsoft or third parties, and are protected by Windows Hello. If you choose to use it, review the controls before opting in: filter apps and websites, consider the sensitive-information filter, set storage limits, and learn how to pause saving or delete snapshots. The ability to pause or delete data does not change the central trade-off: enabling Recall creates a searchable local record of screen activity.

Recall’s filters do not hide a website visit from other parties. Microsoft specifically notes that filtering Recall does not prevent websites, browsers, organizations, or internet providers from knowing that a site was visited. Keep Acer AI utilities separate from Windows features
Acer also lists its own AI-branded applications, including AcerSense, PurifiedView, PurifiedVoice, and LiveArt; Acer Assist and VisionArt appear in some configurations. These are Acer utilities, not Windows features, and their availability can differ by model. Acer describes PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice as video-conference enhancements, while AcerSense manages device settings. Check the apps installed on your laptop and your SKU; the names alone do not guarantee every utility is included. Acer’s 2025 Aspire announcement describes the utilities it announced.
