The available evidence does not establish a winner or a comparable benchmark for resolving complex tickets end to end.

These are different product approaches, not interchangeable promises. The published descriptions establish that features or patterns are offered or announced; they do not prove that a system can safely resolve your organization’s hardest tickets. Availability, packaging, and integrations may also change, so confirm current terms and capabilities directly with the vendor.
What to assess in each option
Microsoft workplace IT services pattern
Investigate this pattern if Teams is the natural front door for employee IT requests and your workflows span an existing ITSM platform and other systems. Confirm which connectors are available and configured in your environment, which actions the agent is permitted to take, and which actions require approval. Also examine how the workflow records actions and hands a request to a person when it cannot proceed.
Jira Service Management AI
For an Atlassian service desk, distinguish assistance with the conversation or ticket from execution of the underlying fix. Ask vendors to demonstrate a representative complex case: what details the AI gathers, what it can change in connected systems, and how it signals uncertainty or escalates. Verify current feature eligibility and integration depth for your deployment rather than assuming that summarization or virtual-agent interaction means end-to-end resolution.

ServiceNow Autonomous Workforce
ServiceNow’s announcement describes role-based AI specialists, including a Level 1 Service Desk AI Specialist, and Moveworks as part of the platform. Treat launch and availability statements as time-sensitive: ask which capabilities are generally available in your region and plan, what systems and data the specialist can access, and how approvals, escalation, and audit records work. An announced role is not evidence of independently validated complex-ticket performance.
Aisera AI Service Management
Aisera describes integrations with ServiceNow and Teams and capabilities for classifying, routing, and resolving tickets. Those are vendor claims, not independent comparative results. Ask for a demonstration against your own workflows, including the integrations and configuration required, the controls governing changes, and examples of how the system recovers when a connected action fails or a case needs human judgment.

How to choose for complex tickets
Start with the systems your service desk already depends on, then compare candidates across five dimensions. A workflow that fits your stack but cannot complete needed actions may be useful for intake or triage, but should not be treated as an autonomous resolver.
- Platform fit: Map the ITSM, identity, endpoint, knowledge, and collaboration systems involved in the ticket. Establish which connections are native, which require configuration or additional integration work, and who will maintain them.
- Degree of action: Classify the candidate’s behavior as answering, summarizing, classifying, routing, or completing an action across systems. Ask it to show the actual state change—not just a suggested response or a ticket marked resolved.
- Approval boundaries: Identify actions that can be taken automatically and those that require human approval. Set boundaries for sensitive changes and verify that the approval process is visible in the ticket workflow.
- Escalation and recovery: Test what happens when the agent lacks access, encounters conflicting information, or cannot complete a step. The handoff should preserve relevant context and show what has already happened so a technician can continue safely.
- Evidence of outcomes: Request results that measure successful resolution, time to resolution, reopens, user impact, and errors—not just interaction volume or deflection. Compare them with your own baseline using the same definitions.
Run a controlled pilot before expanding autonomy
Choose a narrow ticket category with a known workflow and a clear human fallback. Include routine cases and edge cases, then define in advance what counts as a correct resolution, an appropriate escalation, and an unsafe or incorrect action. Keep a human in the loop for changes your organization has not approved for autonomous execution.

- Record whether the ticket was actually resolved, how long resolution took, whether it was reopened, and whether the user needed to contact support again.
- Track incorrect actions, incomplete attempts, approval requests, and escalations alongside successful completions.
- Review a sample of tickets with service-desk staff, including cases the system classified as resolved, to check that the underlying issue was fixed.
- Compare the results with the existing workflow over the same period and ticket category; do not treat a vendor’s headline metric as a substitute for a like-for-like baseline.
Atlassian’s 2025 company blog, “AI in action: the next chapter for Jira Service Management,” reported a “30% improvement in ticket handling efficiency” for IT help-desk agents. This is an Atlassian-published claim about handling efficiency, not an independent comparative study or a direct measure of autonomous complex-ticket resolution.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
The product descriptions and announcements support a shortlist, but they do not establish comparative accuracy, safe execution, implementation success, or independently validated resolution outcomes for complex tickets. No common benchmark or comparable current pricing and plan-entitlement data is established here. Treat claims about classification, routing, summaries, or resolution as different capabilities, and ask vendors to demonstrate the specific workflow and controls you need before making a procurement decision.

Recommendation
Shortlist the option that best matches your existing ITSM and collaboration stack, then judge it on demonstrated action completion, approval controls, escalation and recovery, and measured outcomes in a controlled pilot. If a system only summarizes or routes a ticket, it may still improve service operations—but it has not shown that it can autonomously resolve the complex case.
