To update or cancel a Paramount+ or Max subscription, first find out which company bills you. Watching a service on an Apple device or Roku does not mean Apple or Roku handles the payment. Once you identify the biller, make the change in that company’s subscription controls or contact its support team.
First, find who bills your subscription
Check the service’s account or subscription screen, then compare it with receipts and the payment statement used for the account. Max says its subscription screen can identify the biller; you can also ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider whether it charges you for Max. An app appearing on a device does not establish who bills the subscription.
- Apple: Look in Apple Account subscription settings and search email for a receipt from Apple. Apple advises checking the Apple Account named on the receipt.
- Roku: Review your subscriptions and purchase history. If a charge is missing from the Roku account you checked, Roku recommends checking whether you have another Roku account.
- Provider or direct billing: Check the service’s account screen and the provider account or payment statement for the company name.
If you cannot find the subscription in one account, do not assume billing has stopped. Confirm the biller and account before making another paid subscription.
Use the controls for the company that bills you
| Biller shown on your account or charge | Where to manage it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Apple Account subscription controls | Apple receipt and the Apple Account named on it |
| Roku | Roku subscriptions or the subscription controls for the app on your Roku device | Roku account and purchase history |
| Max internet, mobile, or TV provider | The named provider’s website, help center, or support | Provider shown in Max’s subscription screen |
| Service billed directly | The service’s account controls or support | Service account and payment statement |
If Apple bills you
Manage an Apple-billed subscription through Apple Account subscription settings, not through the device used to watch. If the subscription is not listed, check the Apple receipt to see which Apple Account was used. If you cannot find a receipt from Apple, inspect the payment statement and contact the company that appears as the biller.

Apple’s instructions for unlinking an Apple Account from a provider-included subscription concern Apple services. They do not establish a specific Paramount+ transfer procedure. For Paramount+ or Max, follow the biller shown on your own account or statement; do not assume Apple TV device settings control the subscription.
If Roku bills you
Roku says subscriptions it bills and manages can be handled at my.roku.com/subscriptions or from the Roku device: select the app on the Roku home screen and open its subscription controls. If the streaming service bills you directly, manage the subscription with that service instead.

Roku’s charge examples include “Roku for CBS Interactive” for Paramount+ and “Roku for Warner Media Global Digital Services LLC” for Max. A charge naming Paramount+ directly may indicate direct-provider billing. These are examples, not a substitute for checking your own Roku purchase history and account.
Roku says access to a Roku-managed subscription generally continues through the current billing period after you turn off auto-renew. Do not assume the same timing applies to subscriptions billed by Apple, a provider, or the services directly.

If a TV, internet, or mobile provider bills Max
Max says to manage a provider-billed subscription through that provider’s website, help center, or support. Check the subscription screen in Max to identify the provider, then use the provider’s account tools to change or cancel the subscription. For Max subscriptions billed directly by WarnerMedia, Max provides controls for changing the plan, changing the payment method, or canceling.
Max lists different direct and third-party billing routes by region, and provider procedures can vary. Use the biller named on your current account rather than assuming the same controls are available everywhere.

For a Paramount+ transfer or provider-billed subscription
The available instructions do not establish a Paramount+-specific transfer sequence through Apple or a TV provider. Contact the company shown as the biller, or Paramount+ support, for the steps that apply to your account. Likewise, do not treat Apple’s guidance for Apple services as proof that Paramount+ can be transferred by unlinking an Apple Account.

After you change or cancel billing
- Look for a change or cancellation confirmation in the account of the company that bills you.
- Check the subscription status and next renewal or end date in that same account.
- If the subscription is no longer visible, check for another Apple Account or Roku account, or check the direct service account, before concluding that charges have ended.
- Before starting another paid plan, verify any existing subscription and its effective end date with the relevant biller. Do not rely on automatic reconciliation of overlapping Paramount+ or Max subscriptions.
