Once you complete a purchase of a full game on PlayStation Store, the sale ending changes the price—not the purchase you made. Sign in to the PlayStation account that bought it and download it from your Game Library. A PlayStation Plus game is different: access may depend on your subscription and whether the game remains available through the service.
How to find and download a game you bought
PlayStation’s download instructions direct buyers to their library. The game is tied to the account used for the purchase, so use that account on your console or the PlayStation website.

How a sale purchase differs from a PlayStation Plus game
A paid purchase and a Plus entitlement can look similar in your library, but access is sustained differently. Buying a game during a sale is still a purchase; claiming or playing a game through Plus is access under a subscription offering.

| Access type | What sustains access | What can affect it |
|---|---|---|
| Full game purchased from PlayStation Store, including at a sale price | The completed purchase associated with the purchasing account; the game can be downloaded from that account’s library. | Using the right account, a successful transaction, account or license status, and applicable terms. |
| PlayStation Plus game | Access through the Plus subscription offering. | The subscription lapsing or the game leaving the service can affect access. Check that the subscription is active and that the game is still available through Plus. PlayStation Plus Usage Terms (US) explain that catalog and service offerings can change. |
If a purchased game is missing or locked
- Check the account. Make sure you are signed in to the PlayStation account that completed the purchase.
- Check the transaction. Review transaction history to confirm the purchase succeeded.
- Look in the library. On PS5, check Game Library > Your Collection; on PS4, check Library > Purchased. Try downloading it from there.
- For a Plus game, check its entitlement. Confirm your subscription is active and the game is still offered through Plus.
- If the record is there but the game remains locked, troubleshoot the license or contact PlayStation Support. A lock does not by itself mean the sale ending removed the game.
PlayStation’s game download troubleshooting guidance includes checking the purchasing account and transaction history, as well as license-related steps.
Sale duration, refunds, and digital licenses are separate issues
The sale’s end date determines how long the discounted price is offered; it is not an expiration date for a completed purchase. Refund eligibility is a separate question. Under PlayStation’s US cancellation policy, a game or add-on may be canceled within 14 days of purchase if downloading or streaming has not started. Downloaded or streamed games are generally not eligible for a refund unless faulty. The policy also recognizes applicable local-law rights, so check the rules for your own country or region.

Digital access is also not the same as owning a transferable copy. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s March 2026 terms for the UK and Ireland describe a digital product as a personal license for private use, not ownership, and say that closing or deleting the purchasing account or account suspension may affect access. Those are region-specific terms, not a worldwide guarantee; the terms state: “This means you can use a Digital Product in the ways described in the licence but you do not own the Digital Product.” See the March 2026 UK/Ireland Terms of Service.
