Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallOutdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchStart by matching the tool to the source: use handwriting-to-text for live digital ink, and image OCR for a photo or scan. For either route, make the writing easy to read, choose a supported language, and check the converted text against the original. Recognition can be less reliable with stylized or crowded writing, and no cited vendor source establishes one universally best app or a specific accuracy rate.
First identify what you are converting
Handwriting written directly in a note app
If you wrote with a stylus or finger inside a compatible app, the marks are digital ink. In OneNote, select the handwriting with Lasso Select and choose Ink to Text to turn it into editable typed text. The cited Microsoft instructions do not support this workflow in OneNote for the web. Microsoft’s OneNote handwriting guide describes the feature and its setup.
Apple Notes on supported iPads offers handwriting and sketch tools, and can search handwritten text in supported languages. Search is useful when you need to find a note; it is not the same as converting all handwriting into a typed transcript. Apple’s iPad Notes guide explains the available handwriting features.
Handwriting in a photo or scan
If the page was photographed, scanned, or inserted into a note as an image, use OCR rather than an ink-conversion command. OneNote can copy recognized text from pictures and printouts. Microsoft says results depend on image quality and recommends checking the extracted text. See Microsoft’s OneNote OCR instructions.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A sketch with words, arrows, and diagrams
Text recognition should not be treated as a faithful reconstruction of a mixed sketch. The cited product guidance describes handwriting and text features, but does not promise preservation of diagrams, arrows, symbols, or mathematical notation. Keep the image or ink with the extracted text so you can interpret the layout and check uncertain words.
Steps that can improve the result
1. Choose the right conversion feature
- OneNote digital ink: select only the handwriting with Lasso Select, then choose Ink to Text.
- OneNote image or printout: use picture OCR to copy text from the inserted image.
- Apple Notes on iPad: use its handwriting features when working with live ink; supported-language handwriting search helps locate content within notes.
These features solve different problems: lasso-based conversion acts on ink strokes, while OCR reads pixels in an image.

2. Capture a clear, well-framed page
For an iPhone camera capture in Notes, keep the phone steady for automatic page capture, or use manual capture and adjust the page corners. Keep the writing inside the camera frame. Apple documents these capture controls in its guide to scanning text and documents in Notes. These steps reduce avoidable framing and motion problems; Apple does not quantify how much they improve recognition.
3. Check language and platform support
Handwriting features can depend on language, device, operating system, and app version. Apple’s handwriting search works in supported languages. Microsoft’s OneNote instructions say to install handwriting support for the relevant language and set the proofing language where needed; the cited setup describes Windows 10 or newer and local administrator rights for installing language support. Consult the current instructions for your version before troubleshooting a language mismatch.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
4. Make the writing easier to read
When writing new digital ink, favor clear, distinct characters and leave enough space between words and lines. In supported iPad Notes workflows, Apple offers Refine and Straighten tools for handwriting. These can help make strokes more legible, but Apple does not publish a measured recognition improvement for them.
Image OCR is also vulnerable to poor image quality. Faint, crowded, cursive, or highly stylized writing deserves extra scrutiny. Microsoft’s guidance for OneNote for Mac specifically notes that handwritten or highly stylized, script-like text will not work very well: OneNote for Mac OCR guidance.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
5. Review the recognized text against the source
Read the output while the original ink or image is visible. Check names, numbers, abbreviations, punctuation, and words near drawings or page edges first; context can make an incorrect recognition look plausible. Correct errors in the typed note rather than silently discarding the original, so you can revisit a doubtful passage later. Microsoft explicitly recommends checking OCR output.
