Fitbit Edge details circulating in October 2026 come from leaks; Google has not confirmed its final specifications, price, launch timing, or availability in the reviewed official sources. Choose Charge 6 if its documented features fit your needs. If the rumored Edge features or price would determine your decision, wait for an official announcement.
What is actually known about Fitbit Edge and Charge 6?
This is not yet a like-for-like comparison. Google publishes a product and technical specification page for Charge 6, while October 2026 reports attribute Edge details to leaked material. A detailed leak is still not an official specification sheet, so Edge claims about its screen, sensors, GPS, battery, water resistance, price, or release should not be treated as settled facts.
An October 5 report said retail images and a partial specification sheet had leaked and noted that Google had not officially confirmed Edge’s name, specifications, price, or launch date. A GSMArena report dated October 7 also attributed a detailed specification sheet and European and UK price figures to a leak, while saying official launch timing remained unclear. These reports describe claims, not a confirmed product announcement: October 5 report and GSMArena report.
What does Google officially document for Charge 6?
Hardware and sensors
Google’s U.S. specifications list Charge 6 at 30 g, with an AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Listed sensors and components include an optical heart-rate monitor, three-axis accelerometer, built-in GPS and GLONASS, SpO2 sensors, ambient light sensor, NFC, and electrical sensors compatible with the ECG and EDA Scan apps. Some functions vary by country; Google says its health functions are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions. See Google’s Charge 6 technical specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- COMPLETE ALL-IN-ONE-BUNDLE: Includes Fitbit Charge 6 Black/Obsidian, rapid USB charger, and a premium microfiber cleaning cloth, – everything you need to start tracking in style.
Exercise, health, and connected features
Google describes more than 40 exercise modes, built-in GPS for pace and distance without carrying a phone, all-day activity tracking, Active Zone Minutes, sleep tracking, and Google Maps and Wallet. Maps directions and some phone-connected features need a compatible phone nearby. YouTube Music controls require a paid YouTube Music Premium subscription, and Daily Readiness Score is listed as available with Google Health Premium. Feature access can vary by market and circumstances; check Google’s Charge 6 product page for current details.
Google’s September 28, 2023 announcement describes heart-rate tracking, compatible gym-equipment connections, and Google app controls. TJ Varghese, Google’s Director of Product Management, said: “Charge 6 helps you stay on track with your goals, thanks to advanced health sensors that, combined with a new machine learning algorithm, bring you our most accurate heart rate tracking on a Fitbit tracker yet”. This is Google’s product claim, not an independent head-to-head test or validation of accuracy: Google’s Charge 6 announcement.

Battery, charging, and water limits
Google advertises up to seven days of battery life and lists a full charge time of two hours. The seven-day figure is an estimate based on testing in California in mid-2023 using pre-production hardware and software, default settings, and a median Fitbit user battery profile. Google cautions that usage, environment, enabled features, and other factors affect actual runtime; always-on display and SpO2 features require more frequent charging.
Charge 6 is listed as water resistant to 50 meters and designed to comply with 5 ATM under ISO 22810:2010 when manufactured. Google explicitly says it is not waterproof, that resistance can decline through wear, damage, repair, or disassembly, and that it is intended for shallow water—not high-velocity or high-temperature water activities. The qualification and care details are on Google’s specifications page.

Wait if Edge’s rumored details are central to your decision
If your choice depends on Edge’s reported display, battery, sensors, GPS, water rating, or price, waiting avoids committing based on claims that Google has not confirmed in the reviewed official sources. The reported figures do not support a fair performance verdict against Charge 6.
