Samsung currently identifies the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra as supporting AirDrop sharing. The Galaxy does this through Samsung Quick Share, using its Share with Apple devices setting; there is no separate AirDrop app to install on the phone.
Which Galaxy models are compatible?
Samsung’s published guidance names the Galaxy S26 series: the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Its support material describes the feature as Quick Share sharing with Apple devices, rather than AirDrop running on a Galaxy phone. Samsung Canada’s Quick Share page lists the three S26 models, while Samsung’s March 22, 2026 announcement says the rollout is for the Galaxy S26 series.
Do not assume that another Galaxy model works just because it appears in One UI beta coverage. In an April 9, 2026 beta announcement, Samsung discussed additional devices but noted in a footnote that AirDrop support was then available on the Galaxy S26 series. That does not confirm general-release compatibility for those other phones. Samsung’s beta-program announcement is not a device-compatibility list.
What you need before sharing
- On a compatible Galaxy, Quick Share must be version 13.8.51.27 or later, and Google Play services must be version 26.11.xx or later, according to Samsung’s 2026 requirements.
- The Apple recipient must set AirDrop to Everyone (10 minutes only) so the Galaxy can discover it.
- Both devices should be nearby, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Samsung notes the Galaxy may temporarily disconnect from Wi-Fi while searching for or sharing with Apple devices.
Samsung began the rollout in Korea on March 23, 2026, with expansion to regions including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Availability and timing can vary by market, device, carrier and software version, so a supported model may not have the option everywhere or immediately. How to send files from Galaxy to an Apple device
- On the Galaxy, open Settings → Connected devices → Quick Share and turn on Share with Apple devices.
- On the recipient’s iPhone, iPad or Mac, open Settings → General → AirDrop and select Everyone (10 minutes only).
- On the Galaxy, open the photo, video or other content, tap the share icon, choose Quick Share, then select the Apple device when it appears.

How to receive a file on Galaxy
Make the Galaxy visible in Quick Share or open its receiving screen, then have the sender select the Galaxy from the sharing options on the Apple device. The exact display can vary with the device and software version; Samsung’s instructions cover making a Galaxy available to receive through Quick Share. If the Apple device does not appear
Check the discovery settings first: AirDrop must be set to Everyone for 10 minutes on the Apple device, and Share with Apple devices must be enabled in Galaxy Quick Share. Then confirm both devices are close, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on, and the Galaxy meets Samsung’s Quick Share and Google Play services minimum versions. Install available updates and check whether the feature has rolled out for your market and software build. Samsung’s current published compatibility guidance supports the S26 family; the beta-program mention of other Galaxy devices is not enough to establish ordinary, released support on them. If you own a different model, check its current Samsung support page or look in Settings → Connected devices → Quick Share for the Apple-device sharing option. Treat the feature as unconfirmed for that model unless Samsung provides model-specific confirmation.
