Nintendo’s public support material does not document a verified in-app notification or privacy-settings path, so the exact options depend on what your device and installed app version show.
First, identify the app and platform
Nintendo groups Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! together for smart-device support. This guide covers those two apps—not Nintendo Today! or Nintendo Music, which Nintendo lists separately. The Hello, Mario! series is available on supported smartphones and tablets, as well as Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2; device compatibility is conditional. Nintendo’s smart-device support page and the device compatibility FAQ provide the relevant scope.
If you are using the app on a Switch system, phone and tablet notification and permission menus do not apply. The guidance below is for mobile installs; check the console’s own system settings for console-level controls.
Change or turn off mobile notifications
- Open your phone or tablet’s Settings.
- Open the operating system’s notifications controls and find Hello, Mario! or Hello, Yoshi! in the app list.
- Use the options shown for that app to change its notification behavior or disable notifications.
The precise menu names and available choices vary by operating-system version. Nintendo’s reviewed support pages do not confirm a universal app-specific path or which notification options each Hello app exposes, so follow the labels on your device rather than looking for a particular toggle inside the app.

Review app privacy permissions
To review permissions, open your device’s Settings and inspect the permissions listed for the Hello app. Change only permissions that are actually displayed there. The available controls depend on the platform and installed version; Nintendo’s public support material does not establish an app-specific privacy menu or list which permissions either app requests.

The support material cited here does not establish the policy terms for a particular region, so it cannot support a claim about what data a Hello app collects or how it is used.

Check compatibility and update an older Android install
Nintendo’s device FAQ lists iOS 15 or later. For Android, it lists Android OS 6.0 or later, at least 2 GB of RAM, a 64-bit CPU, and OpenGL ES 3.0 or later. Nintendo says an app may install on a device with 1 GB of RAM but will not operate properly without 2 GB or more. Meeting the listed requirements does not guarantee that every device will work; Chromebooks and devices with x86 or x86-64 processors are not supported. Requirements can change, so check the current compatibility FAQ for your device.
If you use Android, check for an app update before troubleshooting an old installation. In its notice about a Unity Technologies security vulnerability announced in October 2025, Nintendo advised users of Hello, Mario! Android version 1.0.0 to update to the latest version; Nintendo stated that the issue was fixed for Hello, Yoshi! as of version 1.0.0. Check the installed version and current store listing rather than assuming an older install is up to date. See Nintendo’s Android security notice.

Get app-specific help from Nintendo
If you cannot find the app in your device’s controls, or need help with an app-specific feature, Nintendo directs smart-device questions about Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! to the Hello app support route. The UK support page recommends checking the official FAQ first and using in-app support if the FAQ does not resolve the issue. The My Mario app support site is the starting point.
