PSSR is a PlayStation 5 Pro feature, and each game must support it individually. Sony has publicly named several games that use its upgraded version, but its announcements are not a complete, continuously updated list. To confirm support for a specific game, install the latest PS5 Pro system software and game update, then look for an explicit PSSR statement in the game’s official patch notes or a PlayStation or developer announcement.
What PSSR does—and what it requires
PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is an image-upscaling feature for PS5 Pro. Sony describes it as an AI library that analyzes game images frame by frame as it upscales them. Sony says the upgraded version improves reconstruction precision, motion stability, and clarity in fine detail, but the results can vary by title. PlayStation’s February 27, 2026 announcement also said PSSR had been used to boost effective resolution in more than 50 titles on PS5 Pro as of that date.
PSSR requires a PS5 Pro and support in the individual game. The PS5 Pro Enhanced badge indicates that a game has Pro enhancements, but those enhancements vary; the badge alone does not confirm PSSR support. Look for a specific PSSR mention in official game information instead. PlayStation’s PS5 Pro overview describes the badge and the range of possible enhancements.

The examples below were identified in official announcements. They are a verified selection, not an exhaustive roster of every game that supports original or upgraded PSSR.

How to check whether a game supports PSSR
- Update PS5 Pro system software. Open Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings, then select Update System Software. Sony said its March 2026 update would roll out in phases and could also be checked for and installed manually.
- Install the game’s latest update. From the PS5 home screen, highlight the game, press the options button, and choose Check for Update. A game-specific patch may add PSSR support.
- Verify the feature in official game information. Check the latest patch notes or an announcement from PlayStation or the developer for an explicit mention of PSSR. Do not infer support from the PS5 Pro Enhanced badge.
- Check the optional image-quality setting. On PS5 Pro, open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output and look for Enhance PSSR Image Quality. Sony says this system-level option applies to PS5 Pro games that already support PSSR; it does not add support to an unsupported game. If the option causes unexpected visual effects in a title, Sony says you can turn it off. Sony’s March 2026 update announcement describes the option.
What to expect from the upgraded setting
Enabling Enhance PSSR Image Quality is not a guarantee of the same visual improvement in every game. Sony describes the upgraded technology in terms of reconstruction precision, motion stability, and fine-detail clarity, while noting that results vary by title. If you notice unexpected visual effects in a particular game, disable the option and compare the result. There is no universal outcome or cross-game benchmark established by the announcements; a practical comparison should use the same game version and graphics mode and consider clarity, stability in motion, performance behavior, and artifacts.
