Yes. You can request cancellation of an active Fiverr order through its Resolution Center. The freelancer has 48 hours to accept or decline; if they do not respond, Fiverr automatically cancels the order. You can cancel without approval only in specific situations, such as before submitting requirements on Fiverr’s website or at least 24 hours after the expected delivery time when no extension was agreed.
How to cancel an active Fiverr order
- Open Orders and select the order you want to cancel.
- Select View, then open the order page’s Resolution Center.
- Choose Cancel order, provide the requested reason and comments, and send the request.
The freelancer has 48 hours to accept or decline. If they do not respond during that period, Fiverr automatically accepts the request and cancels the order. You can withdraw a cancellation request before the freelancer accepts or declines it. These steps are described in the Fiverr Help Center’s client cancellation instructions and its Resolution Center guidance.
When can you cancel without the freelancer’s approval?
Fiverr lists two limited situations in which a client can cancel without the freelancer approving the request:
- Before submitting project requirements: You can cancel directly from Fiverr’s website before you submit the requirements. This option is not available in the app.
- At least 24 hours after the expected delivery time: You can cancel without approval if the order is at least 24 hours late and you and the freelancer did not agree to extend the delivery date.
Outside these exceptions, use the Resolution Center to request cancellation; do not assume that an active order can always be canceled unilaterally.

What if there is an open dispute or the order is completed?
Open dispute about an update or extension
If you have an open dispute about an order update or delivery extension, withdraw that dispute from the Orders page before sending a cancellation request. Fiverr says the Resolution Center cannot process cancellation requests for completed or already-canceled orders. If a partial refund has already been accepted, Fiverr says you cannot submit another refund request for that order. See Fiverr’s cancellation guidance and Resolution Center instructions.
Completed order
You cannot cancel a completed order through the Resolution Center. Contact Fiverr Customer Support about the order instead.

Fiverr Pro satisfaction guarantee
Fiverr Pro has a separate satisfaction guarantee for eligible services from vetted Pro freelancers, project manager and project planning services, and sourcing by a domain expert. It excludes hourly orders. To request a refund under this guarantee, contact Customer Support within 14 days of completion. Approval is not automatic, and an approved refund is credited to Fiverr Pro balance for future orders.

After a successful cancellation, Fiverr credits the funds to your Fiverr balance by default; cancellation does not automatically return the money to your card or PayPal account. To request a refund to a payment provider, open Available balances and select Request a Refund. Fiverr says this feature is available on iOS and desktop, but not Android. You can make the refund request only after the order has been canceled.

Fiverr says refunds usually complete within 10 days, but the actual time depends on the bank, card issuer, or PayPal. You cannot cancel or redirect a refund after Fiverr initiates it. For full details, see Fiverr’s refund guidance for canceled orders.
Fiverr balance and Fiverr credits are different
Eligible Fiverr balance can be used on Fiverr or requested back to a payment provider. Promotional, referral, and compensation credits cannot be refunded or transferred. Fiverr uses the oldest refundable funds first, so a refund may go to a different payment method than the one used for the canceled order or arrive in multiple transactions. Fiverr says refunds are returned in the same currency and amount when the original payment was not in US dollars. A payment more than 180 days old or an inactive payment method may prevent a refund to the original method.
