If Spotify’s Music Quiz is missing, it may be a rollout or eligibility issue—not a broken app. Spotify’s October 6, 2026 announcement says the expanded feature is rolling out to Premium listeners aged 18 or older in 11 countries, and that it may not appear for every eligible listener or participating artist right away. Start by checking availability, then try app troubleshooting only if the quiz should be available or Spotify is malfunctioning more broadly.
First check whether the Music Quiz is available to you
Spotify announced an expanded Music Quiz rollout on October 6, 2026. It is for Premium listeners aged 18 or older in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. Spotify says the quiz covers more than 2,000 artists, but not every artist is included. The rollout is gradual, so even an eligible listener may not see the feature immediately. Spotify’s announcement does not give a date by which it will reach every eligible account.

To look for the card, update Spotify, play a track by a participating artist, open Now Playing, and scroll down. Starting a random track may not reveal a quiz if that artist is not covered.
- No Premium subscription, under age 18, or outside the announced countries: the October rollout does not establish availability for your account.
- Eligible, but no card for one artist: try a different participating artist; artist coverage is not universal.
- Eligible and using a participating artist, but still no card: it may not have reached your listener account yet. Repeatedly reinstalling the app will not necessarily change rollout availability.
If Spotify itself is failing, try these app fixes
Spotify’s support guidance covers general playback and app problems, not a Music Quiz-specific repair. If Spotify errors, fails to play music, or behaves unexpectedly elsewhere in the app, use these steps in order. Spotify’s troubleshooting article recommends restarting the app and checking the connection, among other general fixes.

- Restart Spotify. Close the app fully, reopen it, and try the quiz again.
- Check your internet connection. Confirm the device is online and the connection is stable; if possible, try another network.
- Update Spotify. Install the latest version available for your device, then reopen the app and check Now Playing again.
- Update your device’s operating system and close unused apps. This can help when the app is generally sluggish or unstable.
- Clear Spotify’s cache. Use the cache-clearing option in Spotify’s app settings, then retry.
- Compare another route. Try Spotify on another device or use the web player. If the problem occurs only on one device, that points toward a local app or device issue, though it does not identify the exact cause.
- Reinstall only if needed. Spotify’s general guidance includes reinstalling the app. Offline music and podcast downloads must be downloaded again afterward.
If the quiz card appears but will not start
Spotify’s reviewed support guidance does not document a Music Quiz-specific error diagnosis or guaranteed fix. Restart and update the app, check the connection, and see whether Spotify works on another device or in the web player. If the quiz still will not open, contact Spotify Support and include your device model, Spotify app version, country, artist whose track was playing, and what happens when you tap the card. Those details help describe the failure without assuming a cause.
Check for a wider Spotify problem
If playback or other Spotify features are also failing, check SpotifyStatus and the Spotify Community Ongoing Issues board for a reported service issue. If neither shows a relevant incident and the problem persists after the app steps, contact Spotify Support.

Don’t confuse the BTS quiz with the broader rollout
Spotify’s March 20, 2026 announcement described a BTS-specific quiz with its own global availability and six listed languages: English, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. That was a separate artist campaign. The October expansion says select artist quizzes launch in English; the BTS language list should not be taken as a promise that all Music Quizzes offer those languages.
