Start with Ryujinx’s default settings and Vulkan if your GPU supports it. For a standard 1080p display, Ryujinx’s setup guide recommends 2× resolution scaling; lower it toward native resolution if you encounter instability, poor frame delivery, or high GPU memory use. Keep shader caching and PPTC enabled, and test optional enhancements one at a time.
This is a guide to emulating the Nintendo Switch game on a PC, not a guide to a native PC edition. Nintendo lists Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Nintendo Switch, with Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility, but does not list an official PC release: Nintendo’s game listing.
Recommended starting settings

Ryujinx says it “comes pre-optimized by default,” and its setup guide advises against changing settings without a specific reason. The archived FAQ also recommends Vulkan when supported. These are sensible starting points, not a guarantee that one configuration will behave identically on every PC. How to tune resolution without sacrificing stability
Resolution scaling increases image sharpness by rendering at a higher internal resolution. It also asks more of the GPU and can increase memory pressure or expose graphical glitches. The useful setting is the highest scale that remains stable on your own system—not automatically the highest available option.

- Begin with the default configuration and Vulkan, if supported.
- Set resolution scaling to 2× for a standard 1080p display, following the current Ryujinx setup guide.
- Play and check whether image delivery remains consistent and whether the game renders correctly.
- If performance becomes uneven, the emulator becomes unstable, GPU memory is exhausted, or artifacts appear, reduce scaling toward native resolution.
- Only after finding a stable scale, test optional enhancements individually. If a change introduces artifacts, restore that setting to its default.
Ryujinx’s Graphics Enhancements Guide explains resolution and aspect-ratio adjustments. Its setup documentation warns that scaling and anisotropic filtering may cause graphical glitches in some games.
What to do if GPU memory becomes a problem
An archived Ryujinx FAQ identifies Super Mario Bros. Wonder as a game using ASTC textures and suggests recompression as a possible way to address high PC VRAM use. Treat this as a conditional, older troubleshooting tip: current setup documentation does not independently establish that the exact option or behavior is unchanged in every build. If memory pressure occurs, first reduce resolution scaling; investigate ASTC recompression only if the option is available in your build and you understand the trade-off.

What PC hardware can you expect to need?
Ryujinx’s setup guide lists at least 8 GB of RAM and a GPU supporting OpenGL 4.5 or Vulkan 1.2 or higher among its minimum requirements. It gives a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB DDR4, and NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB as an illustrative baseline for native resolution and frame rate. That example is for the emulator generally, not a Wonder-specific minimum or a guarantee of 60 fps at a particular scale.
The reviewed authoritative sources do not provide a reproducible current PC benchmark for this game or a tested hardware tier for a specified upscaled resolution and frame rate. Results depend on emulator build, CPU, GPU, drivers, operating system, and chosen scale. Do not treat a GPU model or the guide’s baseline as assurance of a target frame rate.

Ryujinx requires users to provide their own dumped Nintendo Switch games and system files; the emulator does not mean the game is supplied for PC. Nintendo lists the game file size as 3.7 GB for both its Switch and Switch 2 listings, but that is console-release context, not a PC requirement. Ryujinx documents keyboard and mouse, Joy-Con, and support for nearly all controllers. A PC game controller is an option for a console-style setup, but compatibility depends on the device and configuration; no particular model is assured here.
