There is no evidence-backed head-to-head winner between Roku’s 2026 Pro Series OLED and LG’s 2025 B5 OLED. The available independent Roku test did not include an LG B-series TV, so it cannot establish which set is brighter or better overall. Compare the same screen size and current price, then choose based on the features and smart-TV system you prefer. This comparison covers the verified 2025 LG B5; the available official material does not establish B6 specifications.

Which models are being compared?

Roku’s standard Pro Series OLED is a 2026 family available in 55- and 65-inch sizes. LG announced its 2025 B5 in 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. Because “B-series” spans model years, make sure any LG listing you consider is actually a B5 before applying the specifications here.

Both product lines offer 4K OLED panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz and Dolby Vision. The standard Roku Pro OLED also supports HDR10+; LG lists HDR10 Pro for the B5. Format labels alone do not establish which TV delivers the better HDR picture.

How do the pictures compare?

OLED and HDR format support do not tell the whole picture-quality story. Room brightness, picture mode, panel behavior, and test method matter. The evidence available does not provide a direct, comparable Roku-versus-B5 lab test.

What the Roku measurements show

Tom’s Guide’s Michael Desjardin reported its Roku Pro OLED measurements on September 24, 2026: 331 nits SDR brightness and 574 nits HDR brightness, both measured at a 10% window; Delta-E was 2.3, and Rec. 2020 gamut coverage was 70.7%. Those are results from that outlet’s test, not a guarantee for every unit. Tom’s Guide used Movie mode for Roku’s SDR reading and HDR Dark with Display Brightness set to Brighter for its HDR reading. Its comparisons with the LG C6 and Samsung S90H used Filmmaker mode, so the conditions were not identical. (Tom’s Guide)

These numbers provide context about the tested Roku set, but they do not answer whether it is brighter than the B5. No directly comparable B5 measurement is established here. Roku positions the standard Pro OLED for cinematic viewing in a dark room and describes the separate Pro LX as its brighter OLED; that is Roku’s product positioning, not independent evidence of how the standard Pro compares with the B5. Which is better for gaming?

Both brands document 120Hz-class gaming support on these models. Roku lists VRR, ALLM, FreeSync Premium, HDMI 2.1 and support for gaming up to 4K/120fps on the standard Pro OLED. LG lists VRR, G-Sync and FreeSync Premium for the B5. The cited B5 material does not specify ALLM or HDMI port counts, so compare the exact model documentation if those details affect your setup.

Do not confuse the standard Roku Pro OLED with the Pro LX: Roku says the LX supports VRR up to 144Hz, while the standard model is the 120Hz product. The 144Hz figure should not be attributed to the standard Pro.

What about price and size?

Roku’s listed 55-inch and 65-inch prices are lower than the corresponding B5 page-listed US figures, but this is not a like-for-like current sale comparison. Manufacturer pages and retailer offers change, and the prices were not established as simultaneous discounts. Check the live price of the same size and confirm the model year before deciding which is the better value.

The B5 is the only one of these verified families with 77- and 83-inch options. If you need a larger screen, the Roku Pro OLED sizes listed here do not match those choices.

Which smart-TV system suits you?

The Roku Pro OLED has Roku OS built in. The B5 uses LG webOS; LG’s US product page advertises more than 300 free LG Channels and up to five years of webOS Re:New updates, subject to regional and model eligibility. App availability and platform preferences are personal, so check that the services you use are available on the specific TV in your country.

Which TV should you buy?

Choose Roku Pro Series OLED if…

  • You specifically want Roku OS built into the TV.
  • The 55- or 65-inch size fits your room and the current same-size price is compelling to you.
  • You want the formats and gaming features Roku lists for its standard Pro OLED, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, VRR, ALLM, and FreeSync Premium.

Choose LG B5 if…

  • You want a 77- or 83-inch option, or LG’s webOS experience.
  • Filmmaker Mode, Dolby Vision, G-Sync, or the B5’s documented gaming feature set aligns with your needs.
  • You have checked that the listing is for the 2025 B5 and its current price makes sense for the size.

If picture brightness is your deciding factor, do not use the Roku test figures as proof that it beats the B5. The cited independent test does not include the B-series, and a reliable head-to-head verdict requires comparable measurements of the exact models you are considering.
