Sony’s campaign page is the authority for the application status, account requirements, and next steps: PlayStation Japan. The application was for PS5 Pro model CFI-7100B01 and is not a general eligibility policy for future Sony Store sales.

Check the four eligibility requirements
Sony required applicants to meet every applicable condition. Check the Sony account you intended to use for the application—not simply whether you own a PlayStation or have played games elsewhere.
- Japan-registered Sony account: The account had to be registered in Japan and used for PlayStation online services.
- At least 60 hours of PS4 and/or PS5 gameplay: The applying account needed at least 60 total hours while signed in during the fixed window from September 27, 2024, through September 27, 2026, at 23:59 Japan time. The window has closed; play after the cutoff does not count toward this requirement.
- My Sony ID unification: The applying Sony account’s sign-in ID had to be unified with a My Sony ID. Sony said My Sony IDs newly registered on or after January 19, 2022, were already unified. Earlier registrants, or people without a My Sony ID, were directed to Sony’s sign-in ID unification instructions. Sony’s instructions page lets users try signing in to check whether unification is complete.
- Japan residence and agreement to the terms: Applicants had to reside in Japan and agree to the campaign notice’s terms. Delivery was limited to Japan.
Sony’s public notice does not reveal an individual account’s registration country, qualifying playtime, residence, or account-link status. Verify those details against the account used to apply; console ownership or general gaming activity does not establish eligibility.

What applicants should check now
Sony said it would review applications after the deadline and hold a lottery if eligible applications exceeded planned stock. Results were scheduled to be sent from around October 26, 2026, to the email address registered to the Sony account. Applicants could also receive a notice through LINE after linking that account. Check Sony’s live notice for schedule updates, and make sure the registered email account is accessible.
If selected, the applicant had to complete the purchase through the online Sony Store by November 2, 2026, at 11:59 Japan time, using the same Sony account used to apply. Sony listed credit card, Rakuten Pay, PayPay, and Merpay as payment methods; physical Sony Store locations could not process the purchase. Sony said allocations not purchased by the deadline could be offered in an additional lottery from November to eligible applicants who were not selected initially.

Application and purchase restrictions
- Sony limited applications and purchases to one unit per Sony account.
- Applications or purchases intended for resale were prohibited.
- False registration details, missing the purchase deadline, and certain delivery changes could invalidate an application, selection, or order.
- After ordering, address changes, carrier forwarding, and pickup at a distribution center were not accepted.
Product covered by the campaign
The application concerned PS5 Pro model CFI-7100B01. Sony listed a recommended retail price of ¥137,980 including tax. The package listing included a 2 TB SSD console, DualSense wireless controller, horizontal feet, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, printed materials, and preinstalled ASTRO’s PLAYROOM. Buying a PS5 Pro from another retailer did not qualify someone for this Sony Store application.
