The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 has a 5.5-inch cover screen, a 7.6-inch inner display, dual 50 MP rear cameras, and a 4,800 mAh battery. It supports running multiple apps on its large display, but it does not support S Pen or FlexMode. Its IP48 rating describes limited dust and water protection—not a waterproof or damage-proof phone. Battery figures vary by test: Samsung claims up to 26 hours of continuous video playback, while Tom’s Guide recorded 12 hours 19 minutes in a separate 5G web-browsing test.
How durable is Galaxy Z Fold8?
Samsung lists an Armor Aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the front, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear, two titanium layers in the display’s shock-absorbing layer, and an Armor FlexHinge. It also specifies an IP48 rating, which Samsung describes as protection against accidental spills and everyday mishaps. These materials and rating do not make the phone waterproof or impervious to fine dust, drops, pressure, or damage to the folded display. Samsung’s specifications and FAQ do not establish a guaranteed hinge lifespan or drop-proof performance.
As with other foldables, handle the inner screen and hinge with care. A case designed specifically for Galaxy Z Fold8 may help with everyday protection, but it cannot eliminate damage risk. Check that a case fits the exact model and leaves the hinge and cameras appropriately clear.
Can Galaxy Z Fold8 run multiple apps at once?
Yes. The 7.6-inch main display gives apps more room side by side, and the cover screen measures 5.5 inches. Samsung describes the inner display as 4:3 and the cover display as 10:16, dimensions that suit reading, viewing, and multitasking in different ways. Samsung’s feature overview outlines the display and battery features.

In its hands-on review, Tom’s Guide reports using three apps at once, including Gmail, Spotify, and Gallery, without noticeable lag during that session. That is one reviewer’s observation, not a guarantee for every app combination or workload.
Does Galaxy Z Fold8 support FlexMode?
No. Samsung says the hinge is optimized for fully open or closed positions, so the Fold8 does not support FlexMode. Do not assume it can be propped at an intermediate angle for the same hands-free use as a model that supports that feature. Samsung’s product FAQ confirms the limitation.

Does Galaxy Z Fold8 support S Pen?
No. Samsung’s product FAQ says the Galaxy Z Fold8 does not support S Pen. If handwritten notes or stylus input are essential, check the specifications of the particular Galaxy model you are considering rather than assuming Fold-series support carries over.
What cameras does Galaxy Z Fold8 have?
Samsung lists two rear cameras: a 50 MP wide camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there is a 10 MP cover camera and a 10 MP camera on the main screen, the latter with a 100-degree field of view. These are the standard Fold8’s specifications; Samsung presents the Fold8 Ultra as a separate configuration. See Samsung’s camera specifications.

The standard Fold8 has no dedicated telephoto rear camera, according to Tom’s Guide’s review. That matters if you often photograph distant subjects or want optical zoom. Consider the wide and ultra-wide coverage alongside that omission; megapixel counts alone do not describe the camera system’s versatility.
How long does the battery last on Galaxy Z Fold8?
Samsung lists a 4,800 mAh typical-capacity battery and claims up to 26 hours of continuous video playback. The 26-hour figure is a manufacturer playback claim, not a promise of mixed-use runtime. In a different workload, Tom’s Guide measured 12 hours and 19 minutes in its 5G web-surfing battery test. Because video playback and web browsing are different tests, their results should not be treated as directly comparable estimates of everyday use. Samsung’s feature overview and Tom’s Guide’s testing provide those respective figures.
