Then run Samsung Members touch diagnostics. These steps follow Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance; they do not establish a Fold8-specific defect or diagnose physical panel damage.
Why is my Galaxy Z Fold 8 inner screen not responding to touch?
A temporary software issue, an accessory, moisture, or a touch-related setting can affect how the screen responds. Try these checks in order, retesting after each one so you can tell whether anything changed. Samsung notes that menu names and layouts can vary by model and software.
1. Restart the phone
Restarting is a reasonable first check for a temporary glitch. If the phone is unresponsive, Samsung’s general guide says to hold the Side and Volume Down keys for more than seven seconds to force a restart. Test the inner screen again after the phone boots.
2. Remove non-original accessories
Remove a non-original screen protector, case, or other accessory and retest. Samsung says accessories can affect touch sensitivity and gesture recognition, particularly when edge touches or gestures are the problem. If a protector remains installed, check whether Touch sensitivity is available in Settings and try enabling it. Do not remove the factory inner film based on this general accessory guidance.

3. Review accessibility and touch settings
If taps are delayed, repeated taps behave oddly, gestures are difficult, or spoken feedback appears, review accessibility settings. Samsung identifies TalkBack, touch-and-hold delay, tap duration, repeated-touch filtering, and magnification shortcut behavior as settings that can change how touch works.
4. Dry moisture from the screen
If the screen is damp, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and test again. Moisture can interfere with touch. Drying is not a fix for persistent faults, dead zones, lines, flicker, black areas, cracks, or other physical damage.

Why does my Fold 8 inner display look yellow, dim, or unusual?
First restart the phone, install available system and app updates, and review display settings. If the screen looks yellow or warmer than expected, Samsung specifically recommends checking whether Eye comfort shield is enabled. If content appears too large or small rather than discolored, review text size and screen zoom.
These general checks can help identify a setting or software issue, but they do not diagnose panel damage. Menu paths and labels may differ with software version and region.

Could a screen protector or case cause missed touches?
Yes. Samsung says non-original protectors, cases, and accessories may affect sensitivity or gesture recognition. Remove them temporarily and test again, especially if missed touches occur at the edges or during gestures. If you keep a protector installed, try the Touch sensitivity setting if it is available on your software version. This guidance concerns non-original accessories; it is not an instruction to peel off the factory inner film.

- Open the Samsung Members app.
- Choose Diagnostics or Phone diagnostics, depending on the app version.
- Select Touch screen.
- Touch the blank areas shown in the test and review the result.
Samsung also says touch-response checks are available through Warranty and care on One UI 9 for the new foldables, including Galaxy Z Fold8. Feature availability can depend on software and region.

Contact Samsung Members support or an authorized Samsung service center if touch or display problems persist after the checks above, or if the screen has visible damage. Samsung advises stopping use of a device whose display was physically damaged by a strong impact and taking it to a Samsung service center. Avoid pressing the crease, heating the phone, applying liquid, removing the display, or attempting a DIY panel repair.

Samsung US repair options and suggested prices
As accessed October 7, 2026, Samsung’s US support page listed the following suggested prices for the Galaxy Z Fold8 inner screen. They are US figures, not international prices; Samsung says prices can vary by region or authorized service location and may exclude taxes and fees. Inspection and eligibility can affect the service offered, so request a current local quote before deciding.

Samsung offers foldable-screen mail-in repair through a service request made with a Samsung account. Walk-in and mail-in availability can vary. Before choosing an option, compare the screen’s condition, the scope of each service, the local quote and applicable fees, warranty or Samsung Care+ eligibility, and available service routes.
Samsung says Warranty and care on One UI 9 for Galaxy Z Fold8 includes touch-response diagnostics, repair booking through authorized service centers, remote support, and estimated repair costs compared with Samsung Care+. This is a Samsung-announced feature; availability may depend on software and region.
