On the PS5, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play, then select Enable. Once enabled, other users on that PS5 can play games and media purchased and downloaded by your account, including when the console is offline.
Enable Console Sharing and Offline Play
- Sign in to the PS5 with the account that owns the games you want to share.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable. Sony says the feature is automatically enabled on the first PS5 used to sign in to PlayStation. The same menu lets you choose Disable later. See Sony’s Console Sharing and Offline Play instructions.
What other users can access
On the PS5 where sharing is enabled, other users can play games and use media that the enabling account purchased and downloaded. They can do so even when that PS5 is offline. The feature also makes selected PlayStation Plus benefits available to other users; it does not share every Plus benefit.
PlayStation Plus is tied to the subscribing account, and Sony describes selected benefits as shareable on a primary PS4 and one PS5 with Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled. Check Sony’s PlayStation Plus support page for the benefits covered. Subscription-based games also depend on an active subscription and the title remaining available.
Know the one-PS5 limit
An account can have Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on one PS5 at a time. Sony notes that this PS5 limit does not change activation limits for other console types. If you want to share from a different PS5, disable the feature on the currently enabled console before enabling it on the new one.

Move sharing to another PS5
If you can use the old PS5
- On the old console, sign in to the account that enabled sharing.
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play and select Disable.
- On the new PS5, sign in to the same account, open the same menu, and select Enable.
If the old PS5 is unavailable
Use Account Management to remotely deactivate all devices, then enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on the new PS5. Sony limits remote deactivation of all devices to once every six months, so use it only when you cannot deactivate sharing on the old console.

Fix games that show a padlock or will not launch
Check these in order:
- Make sure the account that bought the game is the account with Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on this PS5.
- Confirm the game was purchased by that account and has been downloaded to the console.
- If access comes from PlayStation Plus, verify the subscription is active and the game is still available through it.
- Check that the other console owner has sharing enabled on the PS5 you are using.
- If the game displays a padlock, follow Sony’s troubleshooting guidance for license or network issues on its Console Sharing and Offline Play support page.
- Check PlayStation service status and install the latest PS5 system software.
- Restart the router: switch it off and leave it powered down for at least five minutes before turning it back on. Then restart the PS5.
