Learn how paint and thinner change the world
The brush is the central tool for interacting with the environment. THQ Nordic describes paint as a way to restore the world and thinner as a way to reshape it and uncover secrets. Treat them as different approaches to exploring, rather than assuming one is always the right choice; the publisher’s overview does not specify the outcome of every individual decision.

When play begins, follow the on-screen prompts and get comfortable aiming and using the brush. Try paint and thinner as the game presents opportunities, and pay attention to how the environment responds. For exact button assignments, use the in-game prompts: the official pages cited here do not provide a complete button-by-button control chart or walkthrough of the opening tutorial.
Try movement actions as they are introduced
The publisher lists dash, ground pound, and sprint among the game’s actions. Think of these as movement and combat options to learn when the game introduces them, not a checklist of moves you must master before starting. Let the prompts show you when and how to use each one.

What is different about the Switch 2 edition?
The Nintendo Switch 2 release is a separate edition from the original Nintendo Switch release announced in 2024. THQ Nordic lists these features for the Switch 2 edition:
- Higher-resolution visuals and an improved framerate. The announcement does not provide measured resolution or frame-rate figures.
- Mouse-style controls using Joy-Con 2.
- The Costume Pack DLC included.
Those are the publisher’s listed features; they do not establish a measured performance comparison with the original Switch version. If you are choosing between versions, check that a store listing is specifically for Nintendo Switch 2 and compare its current local price with the version you already own or plan to buy.
