The Razer Wolverine V4 Pro is compatible with both Xbox and PC, but the right fix depends on whether it fails over a wired or wireless connection—and whether it powers on or is detected at all. Start by isolating one platform and one connection method at a time. Use the safe checks below before attempting a reset or firmware update; Razer’s current V4 Pro support should provide any model-specific recovery steps.
First identify where the connection fails
“Not connecting” can mean several different things: the controller will not power on, the host does not detect it, a wireless connection drops, or a game does not respond even though Windows or Xbox recognizes the controller. Note what happens before changing settings.
- Platform: Xbox or PC. On PC, record the Windows version.
- Connection path: wired or the specific wireless method you are using. Do not assume Bluetooth; identify whether the setup uses a receiver or another method.
- Power and detection: Does the controller power on? Does the host show the controller or receiver?
- Scope: Does the problem happen on both platforms or only one? Does it persist with both wired and wireless tests?
Razer’s Wolverine V4 Pro product FAQ confirms compatibility with Xbox and PC. That confirms intended platform support, but the product page does not give a connection-recovery procedure.
Check power, cable, and USB connection
- Connect the controller using its intended cable and check that both ends are firmly seated.
- If the controller needs charging, give it time to charge, then check whether it powers on.
- Connect directly to another USB port on the Xbox or PC, rather than through a hub, and test again.
- If available, try a known-good USB cable that supports data. A cable designed only for charging may supply power without carrying the data needed for a wired connection.
- Disconnect and reconnect the controller, then fully restart the host device and try the wired test again.
These are low-risk ways to narrow down a power, cable, port, or host issue; they are not a V4 Pro-specific Razer recovery procedure.

Test wired and wireless separately
Test one connection path at a time, changing as little else as possible. If a wired connection works but wireless does not, the controller can communicate with that host over USB; concentrate next on the wireless method you actually use. Check the current V4 Pro manual or Razer support instructions for that method. If your setup includes a receiver, make sure it is connected. Do not use an unverified button combination or pairing sequence.
If neither path works, try the controller on another compatible host if one is available. These results are clues, not a definitive diagnosis:

- If the problem follows the controller across hosts, the controller, cable, or receiver may be involved.
- If it occurs on only one host, that host’s USB port, settings, drivers, or configuration may be involved.
- If the host detects the controller but a particular game does not respond, the failure is different from a controller that the host cannot detect. Check whether the issue is limited to that game before changing connection settings.
If the connection problem is on PC
First check whether Windows detects the controller or receiver, and note what appears in Windows’ device listings. Install available Windows updates and obtain relevant host-device drivers through their official channels. Do not treat Bluetooth troubleshooting as a universal controller fix: use it only if Bluetooth is confirmed as the connection path for your setup.
For a Bluetooth connection, Microsoft’s Windows Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance recommends checking that Bluetooth is available and enabled, confirming the device has power and is in range, restarting the device, running the Bluetooth troubleshooter, and updating the Bluetooth adapter driver.

Use only V4 Pro-specific reset or firmware instructions
Check Razer’s current Wolverine V4 Pro product and support information or contact Razer for a reset, pairing, or firmware procedure that explicitly names the V4 Pro. Stop if an updater does not identify this exact model.
A firmware updater listed for the Wolverine V3 Pro is for a different controller, model RZ06-0520—not the V4 Pro. Do not run it on the V4 Pro or copy its button sequence or updater steps.

Contact Razer support or the seller if the controller is not detected on multiple compatible hosts, has visible physical damage, or still fails after the power, cable, port, and host checks. Ask about applicable warranty or return options; eligibility and outcomes depend on the circumstances. The symptoms alone do not establish whether the cause is hardware, firmware, pairing, or host configuration.
