It shows whether a purchase went through and can help identify an unfamiliar charge. If the transaction is still unexplained, check subscriptions, family accounts, and duplicate charges before following PlayStation’s account-security and support guidance.
How to check PlayStation Store Transaction History
Sony’s UK support guide lists four ways to view transactions. The default online date range is the past two years; select a different range if needed. Open a transaction to see its details.
On the web
- Sign in to Account Management.
- Select Transaction History, then choose a date range.
- Open the transaction you want to inspect.
On PS5
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- Select the account and date range, then choose a transaction to view its details.
On PS5, only the family manager can see family members’ transaction history.
On PS4
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.
- Scan the QR code to view the history.
In the PlayStation App
- Select the PlayStation Store icon.
- Open the menu and choose Transaction History.
- Choose a date range and open a transaction for its details.
Menu labels can change, and Sony’s walkthrough is for the UK. If your account is in another region, use the matching regional PlayStation support page.

What to check before assuming a charge is unauthorized
If the transaction appears in your history but you do not recognize it, compare its date and amount with your bank or card statement and check these common explanations in Sony’s unauthorized-payment guidance.
A subscription renewal
Review your subscription settings to see whether the charge is a recurring payment. Refund eligibility for subscription payments is subject to the applicable policy.

A family member’s purchase
Check family accounts, especially if a child uses the console. Child accounts do not have separate PlayStation wallets: they can spend from the family manager’s wallet within the spending limit assigned to them. Sony says the limit is set to zero by default when a family manager creates a child account.
If several accounts use the same payment method, review the transaction history for each. The family manager can view family members’ transaction history on PS5.

A duplicate transaction
Compare the PlayStation transaction history with your bank statement to determine whether the same purchase appears more than once. Sony notes that some payments have refund limitations, so a duplicate charge is not automatically refundable.
A wallet-funding charge
For an unfamiliar charge to your PlayStation wallet, Sony recommends checking Transaction History first. If you still cannot explain it, follow the steps in its wallet-funding troubleshooting guide, which directs users with unexplained charges to the unauthorized-payment guidance.

If you still cannot explain the purchase
Use Sony’s unauthorized-payment guide to choose the route that matches your situation: whether you have a PlayStation account and whether you can still access it. Contact PlayStation Support for unresolved account or payment issues.
If you do not have a PlayStation account but suspect someone used your payment details to create one, Sony advises contacting PlayStation Support promptly and changing your email-account password immediately.

Secure the account and ask about a refund
Require authentication for purchases where available
Sony’s US Terms of Service say that some devices may offer an account setting requiring a password or another authentication method, such as a passkey, to complete payment transactions. Availability and behavior depend on the device and method: enabling an authentication method may disable “Require Password at Checkout” or current two-step verification, or require additional information. Check the settings and guidance for your device rather than assuming the option works the same way everywhere.
Use the official refund route
Sony’s US cancellation policy recommends password and passcode tools to help control unauthorized logins and purchases. For refund questions, contact PlayStation Support or use its refund-support page. Eligibility depends on the applicable policy and purchase type; finding an unfamiliar or unauthorized charge does not guarantee a refund. Refund rights and policy details can differ by region, so consult the rules for your account’s region.
