Redeem a standard PlayStation Store voucher while signed in to the PlayStation account that should receive its funds or content. The route differs by platform: use the profile menu on the web, the Store’s … (More) menu on PS5, or the bottom of the Store sidebar on PS4. Standard voucher codes have 12 digits; 10-digit discount codes are entered at checkout instead. Sony’s redemption guide covers all three platforms.
Redeem a code in a web browser
- Open the PlayStation Store and sign in to the account that should receive the voucher.
- Select your profile at the top of the screen, then choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit voucher code and select Continue.
The funds or content are applied to the signed-in account.
Redeem a code on PS5
- Open PlayStation Store.
- Press Triangle to open the Store menu, then select … (More) > Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Redeem.
- If Download appears for the content, select it to start the download. Sony says this option is not shown for content that does not require a download.
Redeem a code on PS4
- Open PlayStation Store and scroll to the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Redeem Codes.
- Enter the 12-digit voucher code and choose Continue > Confirm or Yes, as prompted.
- If prompted to download content, choose Continue > Download. Sony says these options do not appear for content that does not require a download.
Already checking out? Redeem the voucher there
During checkout, select Redeem Codes and Gift Cards from the payment method menu and follow the prompts. This is an alternative to opening the Store’s separate redemption menu.
Check the code type, account, and region
Use the right entry point for the code
A standard PlayStation Store voucher has 12 digits. Sony lists vouchers for games and add-ons, in-game currency and consumables, season passes, subscriptions, and wallet balance. A 10-digit discount code is different: apply it to the shopping cart at checkout, not through the voucher redemption menu. Sony lists restrictions for discount codes: they cannot be used for subscriptions or pre-orders, combined with another discount code in the same purchase, or applied across multiple purchases.

Match the voucher to the account and its region
Redeem while signed in to the account that should receive the funds or content. Sony says funds and content cannot be transferred between accounts, and each voucher can be used only once. The voucher’s country or region must match the account’s; for a physical voucher, check the country or region flag printed on it. If you need a wallet top-up card, make sure it is for the account’s region before buying.
Know the child-account and subscription conditions
A wallet top-up voucher for a child account must be redeemed by the family manager, who can set a monthly spending limit for the child. Some subscription vouchers may require a valid payment method on the account.

Troubleshoot a code or missing content
- Code rejected: Check each digit, confirm the voucher is still valid, and look for an expiry date printed on it. For a physical gift card, reveal all digits carefully.
- Possible service issue: Check PlayStation Status for network problems.
- Content does not appear after redemption: Restart the console and check again. If it is still missing, sign out and back in to the account used to redeem the voucher.
- Problem persists: Follow Sony’s dedicated voucher troubleshooting guidance.
