Choose GeForce NOW if you want to stream specific games you already own through supported PC stores, with higher-resolution and higher-frame-rate options on eligible plans and hardware. Before choosing, check that your games are available in your country and that your device and connection meet the service’s requirements. Neither service is a universal speed or image-quality winner based on specifications alone.
How Amazon Luna and GeForce NOW give you access to games
Amazon Luna: play from a subscription catalog
Luna runs games on remote Amazon Web Services servers and streams the picture and sound to your device; your controller inputs travel back over the internet. Amazon says streaming does not require game downloads or installations. Luna Standard is included with eligible Prime membership, while Luna Premium is a paid tier with an expanded library. The available games depend on your location and can change over time. Amazon’s Luna overview describes the service and its current plans.
Amazon’s Luna Terms of Use, last updated June 10, 2026, say subscription services and titles may change over time and by location. Check the current catalog for the games you want rather than relying on an old list.
GeForce NOW: stream supported games from connected libraries
GeForce NOW connects to supported game stores and subscriptions, including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect. You can stream titles you own or can access only when they are supported by the service; linking a store does not make its entire library playable. NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW overview reports more than 4,500 PC games, a provider-defined figure that is not directly comparable to Luna’s rotating subscription catalog. NVIDIA also describes Install-to-Play for additional Steam games on premium plans. Check the current game list before subscribing.

Which service is the better fit?
| What matters | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW |
|---|---|---|
| Game access | A curated catalog through Luna Standard or Premium; Standard is included with eligible Prime membership. Catalog access varies by location and may change. Amazon | Supported games from linked PC stores and subscriptions. Store connection alone does not guarantee that a title is supported. NVIDIA |
| Best fit | Players who value a managed catalog, Prime integration and living-room or social play. | Players with supported PC games in connected libraries who want to stream them on a PC, browser, handheld or TV. |
| Devices | Amazon lists Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows and Mac computers, Chromebook, phones and tablets, and selected Samsung and LG TVs. Confirm model and software compatibility. Amazon | NVIDIA lists PCs, browsers, mobile devices, TVs, Fire TV and handhelds, subject to device-specific requirements. NVIDIA system requirements |
| Internet connection | Requires a connection suitable for cloud streaming; Amazon’s cited overview does not establish a comparable bandwidth threshold. | NVIDIA lists 15 Mbps for HD up to 60 fps, 25 Mbps for Full HD at 60 fps and 35 Mbps for QHD at 90/120 fps. It recommends less than 80 ms latency to an NVIDIA data center and wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. These are requirements and recommendations, not a guarantee of a particular experience. | Price | Amazon’s U.S. page, updated September 21, 2026, lists Standard as included with Prime and Premium at $9.99 per month. Prices may differ by territory; the cost of Prime is separate from the stated Premium price. Amazon | A stable current price is not stated on the NVIDIA pages cited here. Check the live local membership page before comparing total costs. |
| Availability | Amazon’s eligibility page lists 14 countries with full Luna cloud gaming: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal and Luxembourg. Check your games before you choose
If you are considering Luna
Search Luna’s current catalog for the exact games you play and confirm they are available in your country. Amazon’s U.S. overview lists Luna Standard as included with eligible Prime membership and Luna Premium at $9.99 per month, but neither the price nor catalog should be assumed to apply unchanged in every territory. Amazon’s eligibility page distinguishes countries with full cloud gaming from territories where benefits may be limited to claiming games.
If you are considering GeForce NOW
Look up each title in NVIDIA’s current game list, then confirm which connected store or subscription provides access to it. A game being available on Steam or another linked storefront does not by itself mean GeForce NOW supports it. The reported 4,500-plus title count comes from NVIDIA and should not be treated as a like-for-like comparison with Luna’s subscription catalog.

Check device and controller compatibility
Both services work across multiple device categories, but compatibility depends on the specific model, operating system, app or browser, and controller. For a TV setup, check the exact television or Fire TV Stick generation and software requirements instead of assuming that every model works. NVIDIA’s system requirements list supported device details, including Fire TV requirements and controllers. Amazon also lists its Luna Controller for Luna, and NVIDIA includes the Luna Controller among supported Fire TV gamepads.
If you want to play with family or friends in the living room, Amazon says GameNight is included in Luna Standard for Prime members. With a compatible TV, participants can use phones as controllers; the number of players depends on the game. Check Amazon’s Luna information for current feature details.

Compare streaming performance on your own setup
NVIDIA publishes specific GeForce NOW bandwidth and latency guidance: 15 Mbps for HD up to 60 fps, 25 Mbps for Full HD at 60 fps, and 35 Mbps for QHD at 90/120 fps, with less than 80 ms latency to an NVIDIA data center recommended. NVIDIA favors wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Actual requirements and available resolutions vary by device and plan, and meeting a bandwidth figure alone does not guarantee smooth play.
NVIDIA says its Ultimate membership unlocks RTX 5080-class cloud performance with up to 5K resolution and 120 fps. That is a provider-stated plan capability, not an independently measured result and not a promise that every game, device or connection will deliver those settings. Check the plan and requirements for your specific hardware on NVIDIA’s system requirements page.

Which one should you try first?
- Try Luna first if you already have eligible Prime membership, live in a country with Luna cloud gaming, find your games in its current catalog and want a straightforward compatible-TV or party-game setup.
- Check GeForce NOW first if you already own games in supported connected stores and want to stream those particular titles on a PC, Mac, browser, handheld or TV. Verify game and device support before paying for a membership.
- For high resolution or frame rate, compare the plan, game, device and connection together. A headline capability alone does not establish what your setup can achieve.
