2027年1月、ウェブ版Gmailで外部メールを扱う3つの機能が終了します。対象は、POPを使ったメール取り込み、「Gmailify」、外部アドレスを差出人にする「別のアドレスから送信」です。外部メールアドレスそのものがGmailで一切使えなくなるわけではありません。Gmailモバイルアプリでの利用や、メール事業者側で設定するGmailへの自動転送などは引き続き選択肢になります。
Googleの案内では完全終了は2027年1月ですが、新規利用や設定変更がいつ制限されるかについては、ヘルプページ間で説明にずれがあります。移行を考えている場合は、終了日を待たずに利用中の接続方法を確認してください。
2027年1月からウェブ版Gmailで何が使えなくなる？
Googleは、サードパーティのメールアカウントに関する次の3機能を終了すると案内しています。ここでいうサードパーティとは、GmailやGoogle Workspace以外のメールアカウントです。
- POPによるメール取得：ウェブ版Gmailの「他のアカウントのメールを確認」で外部アカウントからメールを取り込む機能。
- Gmailify：対象の外部アカウントに、Gmailの迷惑メール対策、モバイル通知、受信トレイのカテゴリ、検索演算子を使った検索などを適用する機能。
- 外部アドレスからの送信：ウェブ版Gmailの「別のアドレスから送信」で、YahooやHotmailなどの外部アドレスを差出人として使う機能。
終了時期や対象機能の詳細は、Googleの変更案内で確認できます。

終了する日と、新規設定の期限には案内のずれがある
Googleの一般向け案内では、外部アドレスからの送信について2026年第3四半期に通知期間が始まり、2026年第3～第4四半期に移行期間を設けるとしています。この間、既存機能は利用できるものの、新しい設定が制限される場合があります。3機能の完全終了は2027年1月で、日付までは示されていません。
一方、GmailifyとPOPに関する別のGoogleヘルプページは、新規ユーザー向けのサポートは2026年第1四半期終了後に終わり、既存ユーザーは2027年1月まで利用できると説明しています。新規利用の終了時期と設定制限の開始時期はページ間で一致していません。したがって、2026年のどの日から新規設定ができなくなるかは断定できませんが、完全終了は両ページとも2027年1月としています。

使い続けられるもの、影響を受けないもの
- Gmailモバイルアプリ：Android、iPhone、iPad向けアプリでは、外部メールアカウントを追加して利用できます。Googleによると、このアクセスは標準のIMAPを使います。
- メール事業者のウェブサイトやアプリ：外部アカウントのメールは、提供元のサービスから引き続き確認できます。
- デスクトップのメールソフト：Outlook、Thunderbird、Apple Mailなどから、外部メールをIMAP/SMTPで利用する方法をGoogleが案内しています。Gmailアカウント自体も、メールソフトからIMAPまたはPOPでアクセスする方法は今回の変更の対象外です。
- 提供元で設定する自動転送：外部メール事業者が新着メールをGmailアドレスへ転送する設定は、GmailのPOP取得や「別のアドレスから送信」とは別の仕組みです。提供元が対応していれば、Gmailの受信トレイに新着メールを届け続けられます。
- すでにGmailに取り込んだメール：既存の取り込み済みメールはGmailに残ります。外部アカウントからメールや連絡先を一度だけインポートすることもできますが、新着メールを継続して同期する機能ではありません。
- GmailやGoogle Workspaceのアドレス：GmailのエイリアスやWorkspaceの「別のアドレスから送信」など、Googleがホストするアカウントは今回の外部アカウント変更の対象外です。
自分のGmail設定が対象か確認する
- パソコンでGmailを開き、設定（歯車アイコン）から「すべての設定を表示」を選びます。
- 「アカウントとインポート」タブを開きます。
- 「他のアカウントのメールを確認」に外部アカウントが登録されていれば、ウェブ版GmailのPOP取得を利用しています。
- 同じページの「名前」または送信元アドレスの設定に、外部アドレスが登録されていれば、「別のアドレスから送信」の影響を受ける可能性があります。Gmailifyを使っている場合も終了対象です。
この変更の対象は、Google以外のメールアカウントに対する上記の機能です。設定に外部アドレスがあるからといって、そのアドレスやメールボックスが使えなくなるわけではありません。
使い方に合わせた移行先

パソコンでGmailを受信箱として使い続けたい場合
外部メール事業者の設定で、Gmailアドレスへの自動転送ができるか確認してください。転送はメール事業者側で設定するため、具体的な画面や手順はサービスごとに異なります。転送先のGmailから外部アドレス名義で返信したい場合は、終了する「別のアドレスから送信」に頼らず、提供元のウェブメールか、外部アカウントを設定したデスクトップメールソフトから送信する方法を検討します。

スマートフォンで確認できればよい場合
Gmailアプリに外部アカウントを追加できます。モバイルでのアカウント利用は継続しますが、Gmailifyが提供していた機能がその外部アカウントに適用され続けるわけではありません。
過去のメールだけGmailに集めたい場合
一度だけのインポートは、過去のメールや連絡先を移す用途には使えます。ただし、以後の新着メールを取り込むライブ同期の代わりにはなりません。新着分をGmailで読みたいなら転送を、外部アカウントを直接管理したいなら提供元のサービスやメールソフトを選びます。

Googleは、組織のメールをGoogle Workspaceへ移行する場合は管理者に相談するよう案内しています。個人で設定を変える前に、組織の移行方針を確認してください。
