「o3より幻覚が約6分の1」は何を指す？

本番会話に近い評価
OpenAIはChatGPTの本番会話に代表的なプロンプトを使い、回答に含まれる事実主張をウェブアクセス可能なLLM判定者に確認させました。判定者は重大・軽微な誤りを特定します。OpenAIは人間による独立評価で判定者を検証し、事実性判定について75%の一致率を報告しました。人間の評価と食い違ったケースを調べた際には、判定者が人間より多くの事実誤りを正しく拾う傾向もあったと説明しています。
LongFactとFActScore
この評価では、まずo3が回答から関連する事実主張を抽出します。主張を10件ずつまとめ、元の質問と回答とともに再びo3に与え、ウェブ閲覧で真偽を確認する手順です。結果は主張単位の誤り率として報告されました。GPT-5 thinkingとo3の比較は、こうした特定の質問と採点手順に基づくものです。

この結果から何が言えて、何は言えない？
妥当な読み方は、「OpenAIが報告した特定の事実性評価では、GPT-5 thinkingはo3より誤りを大きく減らした」です。一方、今回の資料から、GPT-5が誤情報を出さない、すべての利用場面で誤りが6分の1になる、あるいは独立した第三者が同じ結果を再現したとは言えません。確認できる数値はOpenAI自身による発表と評価に基づいています。
モデルを比較するときは、数字だけでなく、どのvariantを使ったか、どの評価タスクか、誤りを主張単位と回答単位のどちらで数えたか、ブラウズを使ったか、誰がどの方法で採点したかを揃えて見る必要があります。指標や評価条件が違う数値を横並びにして、単純な優劣や実利用での誤り率に置き換えることはできません。
