JR東日本の新サービス「teppay」は、2026年10月20日午前11時から順次始まる、モバイルSuicaアプリ内のコード決済です。マイナンバーカードで本人確認した場合、teppay残高で最大30万円の決済が可能になりますが、これはSuicaの交通系IC残高の上限が30万円に変わるという意味ではありません。交通系Suicaの残高とteppay残高は別の決済機能です。
「30万円」はSuicaの交通系残高ではなくteppay残高の決済上限
JR東日本が2026年10月6日に発表したteppayは、モバイルSuicaアプリから使うコード決済サービスです。発表では、マイナンバーカードによる本人確認を行うと、teppay残高で最大30万円まで決済できるとしています。これはSuicaの交通系IC残高を30万円までチャージできるという説明ではありません。
発表で言及されているSuicaの2万円は、交通系ICとしてのSuica残高の上限です。teppayは別の残高を使うコード決済機能として追加されます。JR東日本の説明は2026年10月6日の発表で確認できます。
teppay残高とビューカード払いの違い
teppayの支払い元として、JR東日本はteppay残高とビューカードに紐づけた支払いを別々に説明しています。30万円という上限が示されているのは、本人確認後のteppay残高決済です。ビューカード払いは、紐づけたカードの利用限度額まで利用できるとされています。

- アプリ内で発行するteppay JCBプリペイドカードを使い、日本国内のJCB加盟店でオンライン決済する
teppayへのチャージ方法として、ビューカード、金融機関、セブン銀行ATMまたはローソン銀行ATMからの現金チャージが案内されています。
使える店はSuica対応店と同じではない
JR東日本は、JR東日本グループの商業施設、teppayマークのある店舗、Smart Code対応店舗での利用を予定しています。発表に記載されたSmart Codeの対応拠点数は、2026年3月31日時点で170万カ所以上です。この数はSmart Codeの拠点数であり、すべての店舗でteppayが使えることを保証するものではありません。

JR東日本は、交通系IC電子マネーを受け付ける店舗とteppayを受け付ける店舗は異なると明記しています。Suicaが使える店だからteppayも使えるとは限りません。会計前にteppayまたはSmart Codeの表示を確認してください。
開始日は2026年10月20日、利用開始は順次
teppayの開始日は2026年10月20日で、午前11時から順次利用可能になるとJR東日本は発表しています。開始時点で全員が同時に使えるとは限りません。利用にはモバイルSuicaの規約とteppayの会員規約への同意が必要です。JR東日本はモバイルSuicaの規約改定を2026年10月16日に予定しています。

モバイルPASMO対応は2027年春の予定
JR東日本はPASMOとの連携により、モバイルPASMOでのteppay対応を2027年春に予定しています。モバイルSuicaとモバイルPASMOのteppay利用者間で残高を移転する機能も計画されています。これは2026年10月の開始時点で使える機能ではなく、今後の予定です。
