In desktop Chrome, open the BBC programme page, then use DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot command. It saves the webpage beyond the visible screen; it is different from the BBC player’s fullscreen button, which enlarges video playback.
Capture the whole BBC programme page in Chrome
- Open the BBC programme page in desktop Chrome and let it finish loading. BBC programme pages are published at bbc.co.uk/programmes; the page URL includes a page-specific PID.
- Open Developer Tools: press Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Option+I on Mac.
- Open the DevTools command menu: press Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac.
- Search for Capture full size screenshot and select the command. Chrome saves the resulting screenshot as an image file.
- Open the file and check that the top, bottom and any content you need are present. If the page loads material as you scroll, scroll through it before capturing, then take another screenshot and check it.
This procedure is described in a Google Chrome Community answer, not official Chrome Help documentation. The DevTools interface may change, so if you cannot find the command, check the current command-menu results.
Full-page capture is not the BBC player’s fullscreen mode
A full-page screenshot captures webpage content extending beyond the current browser viewport. The video player’s fullscreen control instead expands playback; it does not capture the entire programme page. BBC Webwise explains the player’s fullscreen control and how to return to the smaller view, but does not cover full-page screenshots.
If the issue is controls or a progress bar appearing over the video, that is separate from capturing the whole page. Full-page capture concerns the page layout; it does not establish that player overlays will be absent. A Reddit discussion illustrates this question, but does not verify a technical fix: how to screenshot without controls showing.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. A single GET request returns an image or PDF; its clean-shot options accept cookie/consent banners and remove 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents use tools including take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. See ScreenshotNeo and the API documentation.
