The October 2026 Prime Day event coverage paired two different selling points: the 8BitDo Retro R8 brings the distinctive retro design, while the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro is the weight-first pick at a reported 36 g. Those are not the same kind of advantage: the Retro R8 is 77 g, so its retro styling does not make it ultralight. The listed prices were event-period reports, not confirmation that the deals are still live.

Choose by feel first, then weight
For a retro gaming mouse: 8BitDo Retro R8
The Retro R8 is the option here with an explicitly retro design. PC Gamer noted its unusual appearance, charging stand, and buttons set down into the shell, adding that the button feel may take some adjustment. That distinctive layout is a matter of preference, not a claim that the mouse is lighter or faster than conventional esports shapes.

#1 Best Overall
- Inspired by the Classics. A seamless match for your Retro Keyboard.
- Built with PAW 3395 Sensor.
- Charging dock as signal extension.
- Kailh Sword GM X Micro Switches - Engineered for up to 100 million clicks.
- Customizable control - Programmable buttons, left/right-hand mode switching, DPI adjustment with 6 levels, and polling rate adjustment via Ultimate Software V2.
For the lowest published weight: Corsair Sabre V2 Pro
At PC Gamer’s reported 36 g, the Sabre V2 Pro is the lightest mouse in this comparison. Its headline battery figure depends on polling rate: the reported maximum is 70 hours at 1,000 Hz, but 16 hours at 8,000 Hz. A higher polling rate is therefore a trade-off rather than an automatic upgrade for every player.
For a symmetrical shape: Razer Viper V3 Pro
Razer describes the Viper V3 Pro as a 54 g symmetrical wireless esports mouse. Its lineup also identifies the Viper V4 Pro as the newer successor, so shoppers comparing current Razer models should distinguish the V3 Pro from the latest version rather than treating the names as interchangeable.

Logitech G lists the PRO X SUPERLIGHT at less than 63 g, with LIGHTSPEED wireless and its HERO 25K sensor. Weight alone does not establish fit: Logitech’s separate PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX announcement describes that model as asymmetrical and right-handed, a different shape consideration from the symmetrical Viper V3 Pro. The DEX is not the same product as the PRO X SUPERLIGHT listed above.

What to check before buying a reported deal
- Current listing: Search Amazon for the exact model and confirm the live price, seller, stock, and delivery destination. Deal coverage records a past offer, not live inventory.
- Region: The cited prices are US-dollar reports. A UK or other regional listing may have a different price, seller, or availability.
- Weight and shape: Compare the source-published weight alongside hand shape and button layout. The 77 g Retro R8 is not the lightest choice simply because its design is retro.
- Polling and battery: Maximum polling figures are not a universal measure of suitability. Where battery life is reported, note the test setting—especially the Sabre V2 Pro’s separate figures at 1,000 Hz and 8,000 Hz.
