VITURE’s vision for smart glasses extends beyond today’s phone-connected displays, but the company has described that future as a gradual progression—not an imminent smartphone replacement. The closest located interview on the topic is with Emily Wang, VITURE’s CMO and co-founder, rather than its CEO. In April 2026, Wang discussed a planned connected-lifestyle category called Vonder and the technical and design hurdles that still stand between current XR glasses and a comfortable, all-in-one wearable.

What VITURE means by moving beyond smartphones

“Beyond smartphones” is best understood as a direction for smart glasses, not a claim that VITURE’s current products can replace a phone. The closest located interview, published by Tom’s Guide on April 15, 2026, quotes Emily Wang describing a future in which augmented-reality displays and AI glasses gradually converge. Wang called it a journey rather than a single leap.

The distinction matters: display-first XR glasses can put a large virtual screen in view, while AI- or camera-first glasses are oriented toward sensing, assistance, or interaction. Combining those roles in a light, wearable frame introduces competing demands for display quality, battery life, heat management, comfort, and everyday appearance. Wang said that making the design something people genuinely want to wear every day is part of the challenge.

What VITURE sells today—and what remains a plan

VITURE’s official US catalog presents XR glasses for gaming, productivity, and entertainment, including The Beast and the Luma family, as well as the Mobile Dock Mini accessory. That lineup supports describing the current products as wearable displays and related accessories; the catalog does not establish that they operate as standalone smartphone replacements.

Every frame is edge-to-edge sharp, silky-smooth, and jaw-droppingly vivid. It's like strapping an IMAX to your face.
  • 【SMARTEST: 9-LEVEL DIMMING + AUTO TRANSPARENCY — No Software Needed】 Another reason The Beast is the smartest XR glasses ever made. One tap shifts between crystal-clear AR and full cinematic blackout across 9+ electrochromic levels — no app, no software, just hardware intelligence. The Beast gives you both — cranked to eleven.

Wang described Vonder as a planned “connected lifestyle” category, with a Q4 2026 launch target reported in the interview. That is a company plan reported at the time, not confirmation that Vonder launched or that it delivers a particular set of features. The interview also does not establish that all the capabilities associated with a future all-in-one form factor are already available.

The engineering hurdles behind an all-in-one pair of glasses

In the Tom’s Guide interview, Wang identified optical efficiency in a lightweight frame, field of view, brightness, power demand, thermal management, battery life, and comfort as persistent constraints. A display needs enough brightness and field of view to be useful, but driving it can increase power use and heat. More battery capacity can help with runtime, yet adds size or weight—precisely the qualities that can make glasses uncomfortable or conspicuous.

VITURE’s strategy, as Wang described it, also depends on more than hardware: an ecosystem, a user base, and a software foundation are part of the path. Her design principle was that “smart glasses should feel invisible, not intrusive,” with technology fitting into a timeless design rather than dominating it. That describes the company’s stated ambition; it is not evidence that the trade-offs have been resolved.

How to read VITURE’s other roadmap announcements

A June 11, 2026 Android Central interview with VITURE Optical Lead Dr. Deqing Kong discussed future higher-resolution and brighter displays, 10-bit HDR output, and a custom chip targeted for 2027. These are reported roadmap items, not confirmation that those features or the chip have shipped.

What to watch for in a genuine smartphone alternative

A future pair of glasses would need to do more than display a virtual screen to stand in for a smartphone. Readers evaluating that claim should look for concrete evidence on these points:

  • Standalone capability: Can the glasses perform core tasks without relying on a phone or another host device?
  • Everyday comfort: Are weight, fit, appearance, and all-day wear addressed alongside technical specifications?
  • Useful display performance: Are brightness and field of view suitable for the intended environments, without unacceptable battery or thermal costs?
  • Software and ecosystem: Are the necessary apps, services, and ongoing support available, rather than merely promised?
  • Availability: Are launch timing, price, and specifications for a released product, or targets that could change?

Until those details are established for a shipped product, VITURE’s statements are most useful as a view of its intended direction: expanding from display-focused XR toward more connected, AI-enabled wearables over time. They do not show that its current glasses have replaced smartphones.
