SailPoint announced a global rollout for capabilities across Agentic Fabric, Human Fabric and Atlas, while naming several specific additions as future releases.
What SailPoint announced
The announcement brings together agent discovery, identity governance, runtime controls and compliance automation. SailPoint describes these as ways to govern human, machine and AI-agent identities within its identity-security platform; the announcement does not independently demonstrate their security effectiveness or customer outcomes. SailPoint’s announcement presents three classes of Autonomous Agents for enforcing policy, right-sizing privileges and protecting systems while allowing legitimate automation to continue.
Discovering agents and their connections
SailPoint says its discovery approach draws on endpoint and browser sensors, SIEM and XDR telemetry, and discovery of non-human identities in vaults and pipelines. The resulting inventory can include agents, MCP servers, tools, credentials and data stores, helping organizations see how agents are connected to systems and information. The company frames this as a way to uncover shadow AI—that is, agent activity not already visible in an organization’s managed inventory.
Governance and runtime protection
Agentic Fabric is expanded with shadow-AI discovery, runtime authorization and an agent kill switch. SailPoint’s developer community describes the fabric as covering enterprise, endpoint and browser agents, with capabilities including registry, discovery, lifecycle management, access requests, certifications, audit reporting and protection. The community’s product details also mark some functions, including AI Plugin AuthZ and prompt security, as preview-only; they should not be treated as generally available features. Human Fabric is being advanced with certifications and segmented identity data. Separately, Autonomous Identity Security Posture Management (A-ISPM) is described as using identity context in SailPoint Atlas to detect exposures and support remediation. These additions connect agent discovery to ownership, access review and policy enforcement rather than treating discovery as a stand-alone inventory exercise.
Compliance and workflow automation
Atlas updates include workflow versioning, execution history and serial loops of up to 1,000 iterations. These features are intended to support repeatable, traceable identity workflows. SailPoint also describes certifications as a way to review and attest access, including in its evolving agent-security capabilities.

How temporary access is intended to work
SailPoint says conditional just-in-time (JIT) provisioning can apply to people, service accounts and AI agents. Instead of keeping an entitlement continuously enabled, an organization can make access conditional on a request or policy criteria. The announcement describes requirements such as a business justification or reauthentication, with activation available through Slack or ServiceNow.
- Set policy conditions. Define the business justification, reauthentication or other conditions required for access.
- Request or trigger access. A person or supported identity can request access, with Slack and ServiceNow named as activation routes.
- Provision when conditions are met. JIT provisioning is intended to grant access for the need at hand rather than leave standing privileges enabled.
The announcement does not specify access duration, expiration behavior, supported entitlements, or a complete configuration path. Those details should be confirmed for the organization’s SailPoint edition and implementation rather than assumed from the announcement.

Which capabilities are rolling out, and which are later?
SailPoint says capabilities across Agentic Fabric, Human Fabric and Atlas began rolling out globally at Navigate 2026. It separately identifies A-ISPM, the Harbor Pilot Policy Agent and the Proofpoint integration as expected in Q4 FY27. That distinction matters: a global rollout statement for the broader product areas does not make each named addition immediately available. SailPoint’s announcement does not provide pricing or a full entitlement matrix.

What the announcement does—and does not—establish
SailPoint says 79% of enterprises are running AI agents in production and 2% have deployed purpose-built identity-security tools to govern and secure them, citing its 2026 Horizons of Identity Security report. These are company-reported figures; the October announcement does not independently validate the underlying survey. They provide context for SailPoint’s stated rationale, not proof that the new controls will reduce risk.

The materials establish SailPoint’s announced capabilities, product scope and stated availability. They do not establish independently measured efficacy, customer outcomes for the new features, pricing, or a full entitlement matrix. Organizations evaluating the offering should confirm which functions are available to them and assess coverage across enterprise, endpoint and browser agents; visibility into tools, credentials and data access; ownership and lifecycle governance; runtime authorization and remediation; and the mechanics of temporary access.
