Its September 16 announcement said the expansion began with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra; the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 were named as the devices on which One UI 9 debuted. For your exact phone, check Settings > Software update > Download and install and your regional Samsung support page.
Which Galaxy devices has Samsung confirmed for One UI 9?
In its September 16, 2026 announcement, Samsung said One UI 9 had debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The company said expansion to more Galaxy devices began with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.
That announcement does not provide a complete list of additional eligible models or dates for October. It therefore does not establish when a particular older Galaxy phone or tablet will receive the stable update.
When will your Samsung phone get One UI 9?
Samsung’s regional wording differs: Samsung Australia described the S26-series expansion as beginning from the end of September, while the global announcement said it began September 16. These notices do not establish one worldwide date for every model.

- On the Galaxy device, open Settings > Software update > Download and install.
- If an update is available, review the version and update details shown on the device before installing.
- If no update appears, check Samsung’s support information for your country and exact model. A missing offer does not confirm that the device is ineligible; the published announcement lacks a full device-by-device schedule.
Timing can differ by model, country, or network operator. Samsung’s One UI 8 schedule guidance says schedules and eligible models can change during review, and updates may be paused for emergency fixes. That page concerns One UI 8, not One UI 9 eligibility, but it illustrates why a schedule should not be treated as a guaranteed date.
Is October’s Samsung update One UI or a security patch?
They are separate update tracks. One UI 9 is the feature and interface rollout. Samsung’s October 2026 security maintenance release is a separate package of security fixes; its timing can differ from the One UI rollout.

No. Samsung’s 2022 upgrade-policy announcement promised up to four generations of One UI upgrades and up to five years of security updates for specified eligible device groups. It is not a current One UI 9 eligibility list, and Samsung said availability and timing may vary by model and Android OS upgrade timing. A general support commitment alone cannot confirm that a particular model is receiving One UI 9 now.
