GS Engineering & Construction Corporation (KRX: 006360) reported positive net income of KRW 2.566 billion for Q2 2026, compared with a net loss a year earlier. That does not mean its operating measures improved: a separate report put consolidated revenue and operating profit below their year-earlier levels.

What “profitable” means in this Q2 report

A MarketScreener summary attributed to S&P Capital IQ reports net income of KRW 2,566 million for Q2 2026, versus a net loss of KRW 62,722 million in Q2 2025. On that measure, the company moved from a loss to a profit year over year. The figures are net income, not operating profit.

The company is GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, a construction and engineering business listed in Korea as KRX: 006360. It is not Goldman Sachs, whose New York Stock Exchange ticker is GS.

The sales figure in the S&P Capital IQ summary and the consolidated revenue figure reported by The Asia Business Daily differ substantially in scale. The available sources do not explain their scope or accounting presentation, so they should not be treated as equivalent or reconciled. The positive net-income figure and the declines in revenue and operating profit can therefore be reported together without implying that all measures moved in the same direction.

How directly are the figures confirmed?

The Q2 figures cited here come from secondary sources. The company’s official English earnings-release page, as checked, did not expose quarter-specific Q2 2026 figures. Its English investor-relations presentation listing showed a 1Q26 presentation dated May 15 and a 2Q25 presentation dated August 13, but no Q2 2026 presentation in the listing. A Korean regulatory quarterly report dated May 14, 2026 covers the first quarter, not Q2, and does not establish the Q2 results.

For that reason, the net-income result is attributed to the S&P Capital IQ summary carried by MarketScreener, while the revenue and operating-profit figures are attributed to The Asia Business Daily. The English investor-relations material checked does not independently verify those Q2 numbers.
