If your watch has stopped connecting to Strava or sending activities, you are not alone: users with several wearable types reported similar problems. But reports alone do not confirm a widespread outage, a common cause, or a guaranteed fix. A PhoneArena article published October 6, 2026, describes the complaints as well as a few anecdotal recoveries.
What users reported
PhoneArena’s Mariyan Slavov wrote that Strava connectivity problems affected the author’s Huawei Watch 5 and that similar complaints appeared in Reddit threads. The article also describes reports from Apple Watch users and Galaxy Watch users. One reported error read, “There was an error connecting your device.” Treat that as an example from user reports, not a standard error message for every watch or connection method.
Some users described activities failing to sync. One Reddit post asked, “Ran this morning, but it hasn’t syncing. Any one having syncing issues today?” These posts show that people using different wearable ecosystems discussed similar symptoms; they do not establish that every case had the same cause.
Does this confirm a Strava outage?
No. The PhoneArena article summarizes user posts but does not verify an outage, give an incident count, or identify an official technical cause. Similar complaints across watch brands also do not prove that a particular watch model is faulty—or that all reports stem from one Strava-side problem.

The article says Strava gave a statement to Android Authority, paraphrased as saying the problems were not connected and that issues can arise from different ecosystems. Because the full wording is not reproduced, this is not enough to establish a definitive explanation or a confirmed root cause. The article does not document an official fix. Check Strava’s current support or status information before assuming the issue is still active or has been resolved.
What you can try, and what the reports establish
One Galaxy Watch subreddit user, Additional-Maize3980, said: “I had this issue and had to completely uninstall strava, after I installed it again it was ok”. That is one person’s account, not a tested remedy or a guarantee that reinstalling will help other users.

Other users reportedly said syncing resumed on its own after a long delay. No reliable wait time is given, so the reports do not tell you how long to wait or whether waiting will restore every account or device.
The article does not give enough detail to compare a watch’s Strava app with a manufacturer-to-Strava connection, or to show which path is more likely to recover. If you are troubleshooting, first note which connection method you use and the exact error you see; the reported experiences do not support replacing a watch as a fix.
