If you qualify for the Amazon Prime settlement refund, you do not need to submit a new claim for the current automatic payment phases. Amazon is sending payments by PayPal, Venmo, or mailed check. Check the eligibility rules below, watch your Amazon account email and postal mail, and act promptly if a payment arrives: it expires 60 days after its issue date.
Who may qualify for an Amazon Prime settlement refund?
You must meet all three conditions in the FTC’s current refund guidance:

- You were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- Between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, you signed up through a challenged enrollment flow or tried but failed to cancel through Amazon’s online cancellation flow.
- You used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period following enrollment.
The FTC identifies the challenged enrollment flows as the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. Prime benefits include Prime Music and Prime Video products offered free to subscribers. Being a Prime customer during the date range is not enough by itself; the enrollment or cancellation circumstances and benefit use also matter.
Do you need to file a claim now?
No new claim or paperwork is required for the current automatic payment phases. The original claim-form process is closed: the court-approved order set July 27, 2026, as the final date to submit a form. The revised process added automatic payments for more eligible consumers. Amazon uses its business records to identify potentially eligible people.

If you have not received a payment, compare your circumstances with the eligibility rules, then check the email address associated with your Amazon account and your postal mail. You can also consult the FTC’s refund page or contact the settlement administrator. The FTC says only eligible Prime customers will receive refunds; public guidance does not establish that every person who believes they qualify will be individually identified.
How much could you receive?
The maximum total payment is $200 per eligible consumer under the revised order. Earlier settlement phases capped payments at $51; the revised order allows additional payments of up to $149, subject to its conditions. Your actual amount depends on eligibility and which payments have been issued and accepted. The refund represents Prime subscription fees.

The FTC describes the broader settlement as $2.5 billion: $1.5 billion in consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty. It reported that more than $845 million in redress had been issued by September 2026. Those overall settlement figures are not the amount any one consumer will receive.
When will payments arrive, and how do you collect them?
The FTC says eligible consumers should receive a refund by April 2027. Amazon sends payments by PayPal, Venmo, or mailed check. A payment expires 60 days after its issue date, so follow the instructions promptly if you receive one.

The September 2026 court-approved order set a payment schedule for expanded groups. Automatic payments to eligible consumers who used 11 to 20 Prime benefits were to begin by October 1, 2026, excluding consumers already paid from the Consumer Fund. The order also allows for possible pro rata payments beginning by the end of April 2027 if accepted payments have not reached the specified $1 billion threshold. That potential round is conditional, may be up to $149 per consumer, and cannot increase total settlement payments above $200 per consumer; it is not guaranteed.
For help with a payment, the FTC lists the settlement administrator at admin@SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, and 1-888-999-8094. Individual eligibility, payment status, and amount depend on Amazon’s records and prior payment history, so use the administrator for questions about your specific case.

How to spot a settlement refund scam
The FTC says it is not contacting consumers about refunds in this matter. It will never demand money, threaten you, tell you to transfer money, or promise a prize; Amazon will not ask you to pay a fee to obtain a refund. Treat a fee request or an offer of guaranteed special access as a scam.
Before sharing personal information, verify a message using the FTC refund page or the official settlement administrator website. Do not rely on an unsolicited message’s links or contact details to confirm that it is genuine.
