What the Nitro Deck 2 does
The Nitro Deck 2 is a handheld controller grip that holds a Nintendo console for play. CRKD says it is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, the original Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED; Argos lists the same three console versions as compatible. It is not an upgrade to the console’s processing power or game library: its purpose is to change the controls and feel of handheld play.
CRKD also says the controller can connect in wired or wireless mode to PCs, mobile devices and selected smart TVs. Treat that as manufacturer-stated compatibility, not a guarantee for every device or operating system. Check support for your specific device before buying.
CRKD says the removable centerpiece lets you use the controller as a standalone pro-style gamepad when the console is docked. Its stated features include remappable controls, adjustable vibration and thumbstick deadzones, motion control in supported games, turbo mode, and an integrated display stand. Customization and firmware updates are handled through the CRKD CTRL companion app. Feature availability can depend on the game or connected device.

How it is supposed to improve handheld play
The controller has sculpted contours and a retractable locking mechanism, which CRKD describes as part of its revised ergonomics. Its CaptiStick thumbsticks use capacitor-based, zero-contact technology; CRKD says this design is intended to avoid stick drift and magnetic interference. These are manufacturer claims. The available evidence does not independently establish how comfortable the grip is over long sessions or how the sticks perform over time.
Remapping, deadzone adjustment and vibration settings offer ways to tailor the controls, while the display stand supports tabletop use. Those features may be useful if you want more control over button layout or stick response, but they do not make the device a universal fit for every player or game.
