How Patch 4 fits into the update timeline
Patch 4 follows the free Challenge Mode update and two earlier patches. The sequence matters: Challenge Mode introduced new content and replay options; Patch 4 is described as a bug-fix release.
| Date | Update | What Aspyr announced |
|---|---|---|
| March 12, 2026 | Challenge Mode | Added new outfits, 15 trophies, and difficulty modifiers for levels players had already completed. Aspyr described the update as offering “40+ hours of replayability”; that is the publisher’s promotional claim, not an independently measured play-time figure. |
| May 1, 2026 | Patch 2 | Addressed graphics and platform-specific issues, including Lara’s model and textures, outfit presentation in Photo Mode, braid behavior, and pickup audio. The notes also included mobile cloud-save and clipping fixes. |
| August 20, 2026 | Patch 3 | Added a brightness slider for levels, 60 FPS in Classic Graphics Mode, and a Pickup Highlight option in HD Graphics Mode, alongside bug fixes. Aspyr said Patch 4 was in progress. |
| October 6, 2026 | Patch 4 | Introduced bug fixes across the platforms listed by Aspyr, including the progression, movement, visual, instruction, and translation issues described above. |

What Patch 4 means for PlayStation players
For PS4 and PS5 players, Patch 4 is a maintenance update intended to correct bugs rather than add another headline feature set. The more substantial Challenge Mode additions—outfits, trophies, and difficulty modifiers—arrived in March, while Patch 3 later added graphics and accessibility-style options such as the brightness slider and Pickup Highlight.
Patch 4’s listed fixes may matter most if a bug was blocking a secret, pickup, achievement, level progression, or movement through an area. Aspyr’s notes do not say that every listed issue occurred on every platform, so use the PlayStation-specific entries in its notes when checking a particular problem.
