For an InDesign brochure template, start with Adobe Stock if you want a template within Adobe’s workflow and free-labeled choices; consider Envato Elements if you want to compare listings with detailed file specifications. Neither is a universal winner: the right choice depends on fold, print dimensions, editable format, included assets, and license. The comparisons below are based on published listings, not downloads or print tests.

Best places to find InDesign brochure templates

Adobe Stock: a native InDesign starting point

Adobe’s US brochure-design page says its Stock offering includes over 100 brochure templates, including bifold, travel, and company brochures, and marks the templates as free to license. Adobe Stock also has a free InDesign template collection with examples such as brand strategy, company, and trifold brochures. These are vendor descriptions; check the individual asset’s current license and availability before using it.

Adobe’s general brochure search showed 11,486 results on October 7, 2026. That is a dated, changeable search-page count—not a verified total of unique InDesign brochure templates.

Envato Elements: paid listings with item-level specifications

Envato Elements is useful when you want to compare templates by their listed formats and production details. One brochure example lists INDD and PDF files, A4 and US Letter versions, 22 pages, layered content, paragraph styles, CMYK color, and a print-ready claim. A separate education brochure listing specifies A4, front and back, editable files, and INDD/IDML formats. Both listings say images shown in previews are not included. These attributes apply to those examples only, not every Envato template.

Envato describes its Elements license as covering most projects, including commercial work. Read the current license and the exact item’s conditions for your intended use. The listing showed subscription access when retrieved; prices and terms can change.

How to choose the right template

  • Fold and reading order: Decide whether the content calls for a single panel, bifold, trifold, or multipage brochure. Choose a layout that supports the sequence in which readers should encounter the information.
  • Dimensions and print setup: Match the template to the printer’s requested finished size and document setup. Adobe identifies margins and bleed among the InDesign settings users can adjust; the cited Envato examples list their own dimensions. Do not assume a template is press-ready for every printer.
  • Editable format and version: Look for INDD or IDML and confirm compatibility with the version of InDesign you use. Adobe Help explains that a licensed Stock template can be opened as an editable INDD file.
  • Included assets: Check whether photos, fonts, linked graphics, and instructions are supplied. Preview images may be illustrative rather than included files, as the Envato examples specify.
  • License and cost: A free-labeled Stock asset and an Elements subscription are different kinds of access. Verify the specific asset’s terms, especially before commercial use.
  • Visual fit: Compare typography, image space, information density, and brand fit in the live preview. No visual-quality ranking is made here.

Prepare the template for print

  1. Choose the fold and collect content. Adobe’s workflow starts with selecting a brochure format, then gathering copy and images before arranging them in the layout.
  2. Check the file and document setup. Open the licensed file in InDesign, confirm its dimensions and page count, then check margins, columns, and bleed against the printer’s requirements.
  3. Resolve missing or excluded assets. Review the listing and the opened document for linked graphics, fonts, and other dependencies. Obtain or replace anything not supplied.
  4. Ask the print shop for final specifications. Confirm finished size, bleed, and output requirements with the printer rather than relying solely on a template’s “print-ready” description.
