Google’s launch offer bundles every device with 12 months of Google AI Pro, including 5 TB of cloud storage, plus three months of YouTube Premium, Adobe Photoshop and other apps. The offer is substantial, but the app bundle’s eligibility and value can vary, and the AI Pro subscription renews at the applicable local price after its trial.
What is a Googlebook?
Google introduced Googlebook in May 2026 as a new laptop category built on ChromeOS foundations and designed to bring Android apps, Android phone integration and Gemini features together. That is Google’s description of its product direction, not an independent finding that it is better than a Chromebook or another laptop.
The first wave was announced with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Google’s materials describe features including Magic Pointer, which can offer Gemini actions based on what is on screen; Rambler, which captures and organizes spoken notes; and Create My Widget, which generates widgets from a written description. These are Google’s feature descriptions; the launch materials do not provide independent performance testing.
What does the Googlebook launch deal include?
Google says every Googlebook includes 12 months of Google AI Pro, with 5 TB of cloud storage and higher Gemini usage limits, as well as three months of YouTube Premium, Adobe Photoshop and other apps. Google’s U.S. Store describes the AI Pro offer as a “$239 value” and the app collection as worth “up to $290.” Those are Google’s promotional valuations, not guaranteed savings for every buyer.

The AI Pro offer has specific eligibility and redemption rules. The UK terms page says eligible users must purchase and activate an eligible Googlebook on or after October 1, 2026. It lists Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States as eligible countries, with redemption by March 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Read the terms for your country before buying; the launch page’s shelf dates do not by themselves establish every offer condition.
After the 12-month trial, the subscription renews at the then-applicable price unless canceled. The UK terms page lists £18.99 per month for the United Kingdom; that price should not be applied to other countries. Check the local terms and renewal price, and decide whether to cancel before the trial ends if you do not want a paid subscription.

How much do Googlebooks cost, and when are they available?
Google says Googlebooks start at $899. This is a starting price, not the price of every configuration. Google’s Store page, for example, lists an XPS Googlebook configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage; Google says 512 GB of built-in storage is standard across manufacturers. Confirm the exact model and configuration with the seller before purchasing.

Can a Googlebook use apps and files from an Android phone?
Google says its phone-continuity features require an Android phone running Android 17 or later. Listed uses include opening phone apps from the laptop, accessing phone files and continuing tasks across devices. A phone on an earlier Android version does not meet the stated requirement for these features. The launch materials describe the intended integration, but do not establish that every Android app or workflow will work identically on a laptop.

Not as managed devices at launch. Google’s administrator guidance says Googlebooks initially target personal consumer use and do not yet support domain enrollment or centralized fleet management. Google plans to begin introducing the first wave of core management capabilities in the second half of 2027.
