Use Asana Calendar to see project tasks by due date, add or reschedule work, and spot busy weeks. Open a project and select Calendar in its header; if the tab is hidden, use the plus control beside the last tab and choose Calendar. For work spanning start dates, durations, and dependencies, use Timeline instead.
Open the project Calendar and choose a time scale
In the project header, click Calendar. If you do not see that tab, click the plus control beside the last project tab and select Calendar. Calendar is also available in My tasks for your personal schedule. Asana’s [calendar guide] documents month and week layouts; interface labels may change over time.
Month view
Choose month view to scan upcoming due dates and milestones over a longer horizon. It is useful for seeing whether several deadlines are clustering in the same period.
Week view
Choose week view to focus on a shorter planning window. Asana documents options for showing weekends and multi-day tasks, which can help when you need a more detailed weekly layout.

Add tasks and change their due dates
- Create a task: Select an empty date in Calendar or use its add-task control. The task is associated with the project and scheduled for the selected date.
- Fill in task details: Open the task to add an owner and other information, such as its description or collaborators.
- Reschedule work: Drag a task to another date. Asana says this updates the task’s due date, so the change affects the task itself rather than only its position on screen.
- Mark work complete: Hover over a task to access its completion control.
Filter, color, and save the view
Use filters to narrow the tasks shown when you want to focus on a subset of the project. Calendar colors can use Asana’s defaults or values from custom fields—for example, content type or approval status—so task categories are easier to distinguish at a glance.
If a filtered or customized layout is useful to your collaborators, save the view so they can return to that configuration. Whether a saved view is shared or personal depends on the view and project settings available in your workspace.

Understand which tasks appear
A project Calendar is not a complete inventory of every task in the project. Asana states that only tasks and subtasks with due dates that are associated with the project appear on its project calendar. Subtasks must be added to the project to show there; adding a due date alone is not enough if the subtask is not associated with that project. See Asana’s [Calendar instructions] for this visibility rule.
For personal scheduling, use Calendar in My tasks. Asana also documents a no-date area there for bringing undated work into a weekly schedule. This is useful when you want to decide when to do a task before assigning it a due date.

Choose Calendar or Timeline
Both views help plan work, but they answer different questions. Asana’s [Timeline guide] and [Calendar guide] distinguish a due-date layout from a schedule that shows work across time.

Choose Calendar when the main planning problem is deadline visibility or crowded days. Choose Timeline when moving one task may affect the start, duration, or order of others.

Optional: subscribe to an Asana calendar externally
Asana supports subscriptions for project calendars and My tasks in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and other services that accept calendar URLs. In Asana, open the project or My tasks actions and copy the calendar subscription link; in the external calendar, use its subscribe-by-URL workflow. Asana’s [calendar sync help page] says tasks with due dates appear as all-day events, completed tasks do not sync, subtasks do sync, and team calendars cannot be synced. The documented maximum is 5,000 synced tasks.
This subscription is one-way: changing an event in the external calendar does not change its Asana task. Asana says the initial sync may be immediate, while subsequent updates can take up to a day. Treat the Asana task as the place to make changes that must be reflected in Asana.

Google Calendar rules integration is a separate option
Asana also documents a Google Calendar integration using rules to create calendar events when a task reaches a configured stage. This is different from subscribing to an Asana calendar: it creates events from task triggers rather than simply displaying a subscribed task feed. The [Google Calendar integration guide] lists availability for Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, Enterprise+, and certain legacy tiers; confirm current eligibility on Asana’s [plan page] before relying on a particular tier.
