For the first Parasite Cage fight, the chamber sequence is:
Mouth → Chamber 1 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 1 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 1 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 3 → Chamber 2 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 6 → Chamber 5 → Chamber 4 → Bowels
This route follows the detailed GameFAQs Monstro walkthrough. The repeated chambers are intentional; at each return, take the specified exit rather than treating the room number as a direction.

How to reach the first Parasite Cage
From the Mouth to Chamber 2
- After Monstro swallows the Gummi Ship, explore the Mouth and speak with Geppetto aboard his ship at the rear. Follow Pinocchio into Chamber 1.
- After the scene with Riku in Chamber 1, defeat the Heartless and take the lower exit to Chamber 3. Clear the room, then return to Chamber 1. Take the raised opening into Chamber 2.
- Clear Chamber 2 and continue into Chamber 3. If you want the optional Dalmatians chest, use a barrel to reach the raised ledge. Return to Chamber 2 through the right-hand opening.
Through the upper chambers to the Bowels
- In the elevated part of Chamber 2, cross the gaps and enter Chamber 5, then continue to Chamber 6.
- The route returns through Chamber 5 for optional chests and Dalmatians, then goes back through Chamber 6 and onward to Chamber 3. Follow the exit directions closely; these revisits are part of the route.
- Continue through Chamber 3, Chamber 1, Chamber 2, Chamber 3, Chamber 2, Chamber 5 and Chamber 6. Re-enter Chamber 5 near the upper step, then use the barrel-and-ledge route to Chamber 4.
- After the scene and save opportunity in Chamber 4, enter the Bowels to fight Parasite Cage. Optional chests and Trinity Marks are not needed to reach the boss.
Clear enemies before attempting difficult jumps: they can knock Sora off platforms. This advice is also noted in the Prima Games Monstro guide.
How to beat the first Parasite Cage
The GameFAQs walkthrough lists 450 HP for the first encounter; its consulted chapter page does not state a publication year. It describes two approaches:

- Ranged magic: Use Fira and/or Gravity and bring Ethers to restore MP. The guide presents this as the safer option.
- Jumping melee: Close in for attacks while avoiding the tentacles. This avoids relying as heavily on spell resources but requires more close-range movement.
These are guide strategies rather than required tactics; choose the approach that suits your comfort with magic and positioning.
Where to get High Jump after the fight
- After defeating Parasite Cage, drop through the hole into the Mouth.
- Open the chest near Geppetto’s ship to obtain High Jump.
- Equip High Jump as a shared ability before continuing.

How to reach the second Parasite Cage fight
From the Mouth, take the higher route above the Chamber 1 entrance to reach the Throat. Continue upward into the Stomach for the rematch. The Gamer Guides Final Mix walkthrough likewise describes High Jump as the way forward to the second encounter.
How to handle Barrel Spiders
Some barrels are Barrel Spiders in disguise: they rush toward Sora and can explode. The GameFAQs guide recommends casting Thunder at a group to expose the disguised enemies while leaving ordinary barrels intact. Treat this as one suggested tactic, not a requirement.

What changes in the second Parasite Cage fight
The GameFAQs walkthrough lists 900 HP for Parasite Cage 2, compared with 450 HP for the first encounter; it does not state a publication year on the consulted chapter page. It also describes poison gas and green floor acid that drains HP, making survival and attack timing more important.
- Keep Aero and Cure available to help manage the hazards.
- Position behind the boss when possible.
- When Parasite Cage opens its mouth, attack the revealed dark orb. The walkthrough says hits on the orb deal double damage; Gamer Guides also highlights the exposed orb as an attack opportunity and recommends Aero.
