Home Assistant’s iOS companion app has gained several features, including optional Apple Health and Reminders integrations, Home Assistant entity search in Spotlight, and new App Intents for events and calendars. Apple’s UK App Store listing describes these changes, along with reliability and usability improvements. It does not identify a specific app version, and the listed features should not be assumed to apply to Android.

What’s new in the Home Assistant iOS app?

The changes documented in Apple’s UK App Store listing cover ways to connect the app with Apple services, find Home Assistant content, and improve day-to-day reliability. The listing describes an app update; it does not establish a new Home Assistant Core release.

  • Automatic server switching: The app can switch servers based on your location.
  • Apple Health sensors (Labs): Share health data with Home Assistant. The listing labels this feature Labs.
  • Apple Reminders syncing (Labs): Sync Reminders with Home Assistant to-do lists. This is also labeled Labs.
  • Spotlight search and App Intents: Search Home Assistant entities from Spotlight and use new App Intents for events and calendars.
  • Updated app presentation: The update introduces a new app icon and refreshed launch experience.

What does the Labs label mean for Health and Reminders?

Apple Health sensors and Apple Reminders syncing are explicitly marked Labs in the listing. Treat them as experimental or Labs features rather than assuming they are enabled for every user or have the same status as established app functions. The listing does not provide further detail about rollout, setup requirements, or availability by device.

What else has been improved?

The listing also names fixes and refinements across iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac:

Does the update include Android?

The specific feature details above come from Apple’s UK App Store listing and therefore establish changes for the iOS app context, not Android. Home Assistant maintains official apps for both iOS and Android, and both use the Mobile App integration, but that does not prove that this exact feature set shipped on Android. Check the Android app’s own release notes for its changes rather than assuming platform parity.

Home Assistant’s Mobile App documentation recommends keeping the integration enabled if you plan to use a mobile application that integrates with Home Assistant.

What this update does—and does not—tell you

This is an overview of features documented for the iOS companion app, not a version-specific changelog: the cited App Store listing does not identify a release number. Home Assistant’s release index covers Core releases, which are distinct from app updates. For platform or version comparisons, use the relevant store’s release notes and check the operating-system requirements, Labs status, and supported Apple devices for the feature you want.
