Samsung Galaxy phones can exchange files with Apple devices through Quick Share’s AirDrop interoperability. It is not a separate AirDrop app on Galaxy. Google’s current Android compatibility page lists several Galaxy families, although Samsung support pages still describe earlier rollout stages, so model eligibility, software updates and market availability all matter.
Which Galaxy phones work with Apple?
Google’s current Android compatibility page lists these Samsung models as supporting Quick Share interoperability with AirDrop: Galaxy S26, S25 and S24 models; Galaxy Z Flip7, Z Fold7, Z Flip6, Z Fold6, Z Fold6 Special Edition and Z TriFold. Check the live list and your phone’s installed software before relying on compatibility.
The official pages do not describe the rollout in sync. Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 series as the initial release in March 2026, saying expansion to additional devices would be announced later. Google’s May 12, 2026 announcement listed S26 as supported and put S25, S24 and several Z models in “Coming Soon.” Google’s current compatibility page now includes those families, while a Samsung Germany FAQ dated September 4, 2026 still says the feature is currently only on S26 with One UI 8.5. The pages do not explain the discrepancy; the current Google list is the broader model reference.
Samsung’s initial rollout began in Korea, with expansion planned for Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Samsung warns that timing and availability can vary by market, so a listed model may not yet have the feature in your region.

What software does a Galaxy need?
Samsung India specifies Quick Share version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play services version 26.11.xx or later for sharing with Apple devices. Samsung Germany separately specifies a Galaxy S26 running One UI 8.5 or later. Treat those as regional support guidance, not a universal requirement for every newly listed model: confirm the current instructions for your device and market.

Why isn’t my Apple device showing up?
Keep both devices nearby, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. For receiving on Galaxy, check that Apple-device sharing is enabled and the temporary “Everyone” visibility window is active on both devices.
Samsung says discovery can fail while Mobile Hotspot or services using Wi-Fi Direct or Wi-Fi Aware are active. Examples include Smart View, DeX, Multi Control, Music Share, Camera Share and Storage Share. Close or stop those services, connect to a network, restart the devices, and try again.
