Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi! are free Nintendo character-play apps for young children. On Nintendo Switch, children can poke, stretch, and spin a character’s face, reveal items and enemies, and play peekaboo. Nintendo’s Canadian listings give both apps an October 5, 2026 release date and say they are compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. They work offline after download.
What you do in the apps
Each app centers on its featured character’s face. Touch it to see reactions, or use the on-screen ? Block menu to bring up objects and characters from the Mario world.
- Play with the face: Stretch, poke, or spin Peach or Luigi and watch the character respond.
- Reveal items: The ? Block menu can bring up things such as mushrooms, stars, pipes, or enemies.
- Play peekaboo: Boo may appear as part of the peekaboo interaction.
- Take a sleep break: After a while, the character goes to sleep. Poking will not wake them; Nintendo says this feature can be turned off in the app’s startup settings.
The two apps have the same described activities and features. The main choice is whether a child would rather play with Peach or Luigi; Nintendo’s listings do not establish different gameplay between them.
Are Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi! free?
Yes. Nintendo’s Canadian digital listings describe each app as free for Nintendo Switch. The listings do not make a My Mario wooden character block necessary to download or play.

Which devices can run them?
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
Nintendo’s Canadian listings identify the apps for Nintendo Switch and state Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility. They list touchscreen and NFC support, handheld play, and one player on a single system. The listed file size is 200 MB per app on Switch; on Switch 2, Nintendo lists 215 MB for Hello, Peach! and 214 MB for Hello, Luigi!. File sizes may vary by platform or as a listing is updated.
Phones and tablets
Nintendo’s My Mario support page says the Hello, Mario! series is available for smartphones and tablets as well as Switch and Switch 2. It lists iOS 15 or later, or Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, a 64-bit CPU, and OpenGL ES 3.0 or later. Nintendo cautions that meeting those requirements does not guarantee operation on every device. Because the specific Peach and Luigi mobile store listings can vary by region, check your regional app store for availability before trying to download either app.

Can you play offline?
Yes. Nintendo says an internet connection is not needed after download. Its Peach listing states: “There’s no need to be connected to the internet to play this application. After you download it, you’re good to go!”
Are My Mario wooden blocks required?
No. The wooden character blocks are an optional NFC interaction. Nintendo says tapping a compatible My Mario block during play can make that character appear; its Spanish regional Peach page names Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach blocks and says scanning them switches the character. The apps remain free to play without a block.
