Five Green Lantern picks stand out as promising additions to a future DC game: John Stewart and Jessica Cruz as a paired lead option, plus Saint Walker, Larfleeze, Kyle Rayner, and Sinestro. These are proposed roles, not an announced roster. The ComicBook.com article behind the list treats a future DC game—and rumors of Injustice 3—as speculation; neither a new game nor these characters’ inclusion has been confirmed.
Why these five characters make a varied game roster
The lineup spans Earth-focused heroes, cosmic allies and antagonists, with distinct power identities and possible player roles. That gives a game more options than simply adding several versions of the same Green Lantern. The ideas below are character-based pitches, not confirmed features.
| Character | Possible game role | Story or power distinction |
|---|---|---|
| John Stewart and Jessica Cruz | Lead and selectable co-lead | Earth-based adventure with two different protagonists |
| Saint Walker | Mentor, support character or fighter | Hope-themed Blue Lantern ally |
| Larfleeze | Boss, fighter or source of information | Greed-driven Orange Lantern concept |
| Kyle Rayner | Playable Green Lantern or alternate White Lantern | Creative constructs and a different place in Lantern history |
| Sinestro | Antagonist or uneasy ally | Fear-based ideological foil |
John Stewart and Jessica Cruz could anchor an Earth-based story
John Stewart is a natural candidate for a lead role, while Jessica Cruz could make the story a two-protagonist experience. The ComicBook.com article points to Stewart’s prominence in Lanterns and animated Justice League as reasons for his appeal, then suggests a grounded adventure centered on Earth. That is a creative proposal, not an announced game direction.
Jessica could bring a contrasting origin and personality without requiring the game to abandon its Earth setting. DC describes Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz as rookie Green Lanterns tackling threats on Earth in its official listing for Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1. A game could use that rookie framing to give the characters different perspectives, missions or play styles.

Saint Walker could make a useful ally or teacher
Saint Walker, the Blue Lantern, offers a role that need not begin with combat. The article proposes him as an ally, mentor, quest giver or tutorial support in an RPG-style story; it also imagines him as a distinctive fighter in a hypothetical Injustice 3. His association with hope and pacifism is comic characterization discussed by the article, not a confirmed gameplay design.
His inclusion would broaden a story beyond the Green Lantern Corps. DC’s official Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing includes Saint Walker among the Lantern characters involved in the collected story.

Larfleeze could bring an unpredictable boss or fighter
The ComicBook.com article pitches Larfleeze as a boss, playable fighter or source of information in a larger cosmic story. Its description emphasizes his greed-driven orange power and singular status, which could make him a striking contrast to the more conventional hero roles. Those are lore-based concepts and game-design suggestions, not established mechanics.
For a story with a wider Lantern cast, Larfleeze could also create a different kind of encounter from a straightforward hero-versus-villain rivalry. DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day collection listing names him among its Lantern characters.

Kyle Rayner offers a creative or White Lantern option
Kyle Rayner’s artist background gives the article a reason to single out the visual possibilities of his constructs. It also proposes two distinct versions for a game: Kyle as a Green Lantern or as a White Lantern. His origin and later White Lantern association come from the article’s comic-context discussion; neither version has been announced for a game.
DC’s official Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 1 listing describes a new Green Lantern emerging when artist Kyle receives the last power ring. DC’s Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Book One listing says the collection includes Green Lantern: Rebirth #1–6 and features Kyle, John Stewart and Sinestro. It is an optional comics-reading route for readers who want background, not a game tie-in.

Sinestro could provide the clearest ideological conflict
Sinestro could serve as a central antagonist, or become a reluctant ally when a larger threat changes the stakes. The article points to his yellow ring and fear-based corps as a sharp contrast with Green Lantern protagonists. This makes him an especially direct source of conflict, but his appearance in a future game is not confirmed.
Sinestro appears alongside Saint Walker and Larfleeze in DC’s official Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing; DC’s Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 listing also features him. DC describes that comic as a tale in which “The fates of Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and the rest of the Green Lantern mythology unfold in this colossal tale of heroism involving the entire DCU!”

What is confirmed—and what is only a pitch?
The five names are recommendations from Matthew Danielson’s October 5, 2026 ComicBook.com opinion article, “5 Green Lantern Characters That Need To Be In The Next DC Game (& One That Wasn’t In Lanterns)”. The article uses Lanterns as an imagined catalyst and mentions rumors of Injustice 3, but it does not establish that a game, roster or specific character role has been announced. Its closing question is which Green Lantern character readers most want to see in a DC game.
